You can use Volume Retention to set access attributes to BC Z P-VOLs and S-VOLs.
For BC Z reserve volumes, you can set all of the following Volume Retention access attributes:
Read/Write
Read Only
Protect
CAUTION: For 3390-A volumes, an attempt to set the Read Only attribute or Protect attribute on
a P-VOL or S-VOL may result in termination of copy processing or pair suspension.
