Troubleshooting the At-Time Split
If the At-Time Split fails, note the following:
The pairs in the consistency group are suspended (Suspend/SUSPER statis).
When the host server is down or has failed, you can define a consistency group that does not
have BC Z pairs. Running the paircreate command with the consistency group split option
under such a condition can cause the paircreate command to be rejected.
In this case, complete the following:
1. Locate a consistency group number that is not used by any pairs in the Pair Operation
window by sorting the CTG column.
2. Specify that consistency group number explicitly, and run the paircreate command
with the consistency group split option using RAID Manager on the host server.
When you use a Cnt Ac-J Z S-VOL as a BC Z P-VOL and you cannot change the status of some
pairs in a consistency group, some pairs remain unsplit in the consistency group after you run
the pairsplit command in RAID Manager. Consistency is not guaranteed.
The following are possible reasons why the pair status cannot be changed:
The Cnt Ac-J pair belongs to a consistency group, and the P-VOL and S-VOL have the
same contents. The journal volumes for this pair are full.
The BC Z license is invalid.
The BC Z pair volumes are blocked.
