5 Monitoring and maintenance
This topic provides information and instructions for monitoring and maintaining the FS system.
Monitoring pair information
You can monitor pair information in the following ways:
“Viewing the number of pairs and a list of pairs (page 51).
“Monitoring pair properties” (page 51).
“Monitoring synchronous rates (page 52).
Viewing the number of pairs and a list of pairs
1. In the Storage Systems tree, click Replications > Local Replications.
2. View the number of pairs and a list of pairs.
Pair status definitions
When checking the pair status, click Refresh View to ensure the data is current.
The following table shows the FS pair status definitions.
RAID Manager
shows the status
as
S-VOL accessDescriptionStatus
SMPLRead/write
disabled
The pair is being deleted. You cannot perform pair tasks when the
pair is in this status. Deleting the pair changes the status to “SMPL.
SMPL(PD)
COPYRead/write
disabled
The paircreate command has been accepted. P-VOLs accept
read/write operations, but S-VOLs do not.

The volumes are paired. S-VOLs cannot accept read/write operations.PAIR
PFULRead/write

The data pool threshold is exceeded while the volumes were paired
(“PAIR” status).

The data pool threshold is exceeded in “PSUS” status.PFUS

enabled. Can be
mounted.
The pairsplit command has completed. Update copy operations
are stopped. S-VOLs accept read/write operations. The system records
differential data between the P-VOL and S-VOLs so that you can
immediately resynchronize the pair.

RCPYRead/write
disabled
A reverse resync operation is in progress. S-VOLs do not accept
read/write operations. Only S-VOL differential data is copied to the
RCPY

Copy or Quick Restore.
PSUERead/write
disabled
The pair is suspended by the system. P-VOLs accept read/write
operations.
PSUE
S-VOLs do not accept read/write operations.
Monitoring pair properties
Prerequisite
You must have the Storage Administrator (Local Copy) role role to monitor pair properties.
