Service doors

Hard drive service door (included in Hard Drive Hardware Kit) 905736-001
The bottom of the computer has two service doors. The hard drive door only provides access to the hard drive.
The main service door provides access to the memory modules, wireless modules, M.2 solid-state drive, and
keyboard screws.
Before removing the service doors, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is o or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Place the computer in “Battery Safe mode” (Battery Safe mode on page 30).
3. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
4. Disconnect the power from the computer by rst unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and
then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
Remove the service doors:
1. Main service door
Loosen the captive Phillips screw (1).
2. Lift the bottom of the door upward (2), and then remove the door from the computer (3).
