Staging recommendations
Staging: All work performed to prepare the printer for deployment to the customer site. This includes; basic
unpacking, inspection, FW upgrades, network conguration, and repackaging for delivery to customer site.
TIP: For more information on unpacking, see Unboxing on page 23.
Only remove tape/packing material as follows:
1. Allow access to power button.
2. Allow access to the Control Panel.
3. Allow access to USB port.
4. Remove service sled restraints.
5. In-cave nisher (if present)
6. Stapler (if present)
7. ADF (If present)
CAUTION: HP does not recommend performing initialization during staging activity. This should only be done at
the nal customer location.
CAUTION: If initialization is performed during staging, it is highly recommended nal deployment to the end
user location be within 7 days. If this is not possible do not perform initialization during staging. Perform all steps
during On-site installation at the nal customer location.
Issues that may occur if the printer is shipped after the initialization is performed include:
● Vertical white line streaks in printouts – will usually resolve after waiting a few hours.
● Mixing between colors—usually will resolve itself after printing multiple pages.
● Colors streaked vertically in printouts – usually cleared by printing multiple pages
● Air gain in the Print Bar (from moving/shipping vibrations), which can shorten print bar life.
Risk for potential issues are reduced by minimizing vibration or bumps/impacts to the unit while it is being
transported.
