Staging and on-site installation options
Review the Staging and on-site installation options.
NOTE: Staging personnel and HP eld technician must complete the required product training and use the
appropriate installation guide available when installing the product.
Staging option The printer is removed from the packaging and powered on to setup the conguration
settings. Do not remove any tape or other packaging restraints from the unit, if using this option. The next
power cycle will show the “SETUP MENU” again and in preparation for the full setup option.
it is highly recommended nal deployment to the end user location be within 7 days of staging activity. .If
not possible, all printer set-up activities should be performed at the nal customer location.
If the printer will be deployed directly to the nal customer location, please go directly to on-site
installation and follow the instructions.
On-site installation is performed at nal customer location: the 26-minute startup initialization routine
(that uses supplies and paper), and any security and network settings specic to the end user’s
environment are performed. All tape and other packaging restraints must be removed to complete this
process.
NOTE: Whenever possible, HP recommends that the staging option be used and the initialization performed
only at the nal location where the printer will be used.
The setup process must be completed specic to the end user’s environment and the printer.
IMPORTANT: For the staging option, make sure to save all packaging material, packaging restraints, and tape to
repackage the printer carefully before sending it to the customer site.
