HP Installer Kit for Linux (HPIKL)
The HP Installer Kit for Linux helps users install certied versions of RHEL, SLED, or Ubuntu on HP
workstations. It is available as an operating system option on all HP workstations.
●
The kit contains tested drivers that augment and/or replace those found in RHEL, SLED, or Ubuntu, to
enable proper use and behavior on HP workstations.
●
The kit does not include the Linux operating system, which the user must supply. Commercial Linux
distributions are available for purchase from vendors such as Red Hat and SUSE. A variety of other Linux
distributions are available for free (e.g., Ubuntu). To view supported congurations and operating
systems, go to
http://www.hp.com/support/linux_hardware_matrix.
The HPIKL option may include a FreeDOS preload. This operating system option accommodates those who
have a customized Linux distribution or who have a licensed version of RHEL, SLED, or Ubuntu and would like
to install the HP-recommended driver additions.
The kit also can be downloaded using the following steps:
1. Go to http://www.hp.com/support/workstation_swdrivers.
2. Select your workstation model.
3. Select the desired operating system.
4. Select your software/driver language, and then click the Software quick jump link.
5. Select the Obtain Software link for the appropriate package (typically the most recent revision).
6. Click I Accept to accept the terms of the license agreement.
7. Download the software ISO image and save it on a disc. This disk is your HP driver disc.
