Installing the operating system with the HPE Smart Array MR Gen10 P824i-p
controller driver
Prerequisites
Ensure that you have the HPE Smart Array MR Gen10 P824i-p controller driver available. Obtain it by
extracting it from the SPP (http://www.hpe.com/servers/spp) or by downloading it from the Hewlett Packard
Enterprise Support website https://www.support.hpe.com.
Procedure
1. Power on the server.
2. If you are running the server in UEFI Boot Mode, select F9 (System Utilities).
3. (Optional) If running the server in Legacy Boot Mode, set the controller as the boot controller.
4. (Optional) If running the server in Legacy Boot Mode, change the controller boot order.
5. Configure a logical drive or select physical drives for JBOD mode using the Smart Array configuration
utility in UEFI System Utilities.
6. Launch the operating system installation and point to the controller driver when prompted.
7. If the operating system utility does not see the drive, repeat the step to configure the logical drive or select
physical drives for JBOD and retry the installation.
8. After the installation is complete, use MR Storage Administrator, StorCLI, or the SPP to update the
controller firmware if it is not the latest revision.
