Procedure
1. Install the primary PCI riser blank.
2. Install the access panel.
3. Install the server into the rack.
4. Connect all peripheral cables to the server.
5. Connect each power cord to the server.
6. Connect each power cord to the power source.
7. Power up the server.
8. If removed, install the bezel.
Removing the primary PCI riser cage
CAUTION: To prevent damage to the server or expansion boards, power down the server and
remove all AC power cords before removing or installing the PCI riser cage.
CAUTION: To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server unless all
bays are populated with either a component or a blank.
Procedure
1. Back up all server data.
2. If installed, remove the bezel.
3. Power down the server.
4. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
