Redundant power supply enablement option
The RPS enablement option supports the installation of two Gen10 Flexible Slot (Flex Slot) power
supplies.
Adding a second power supply provides redundant power support to the server if one power supply fails.
You do not have to power down the server before removing or installing a redundant hot-plug power
supply.

Installing the redundant power supply enablement kit
Prerequisites
Before you perform this procedure, make sure that you have the following items available:
• The components included with the hardware option kit
• T-15 Torx screwdriver
• T-10 Torx screwdriver
• Hot-plug power supply
Procedure
1. Back up all server data.
2. If installed, remove the bezel.
3. Power down the server.
4. Access the product rear panel.
5. Release the power cord from the strain relief clip.
6. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
7. Remove the server from the rack.
8. Place the server on a sturdy, level surface.
9. Remove the access panel.
10. Remove the rail.
