4. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
5. Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.
6. Do one of the following:
• Extend the server from the rack.
• Remove the server from the rack.
7. Remove the access panel.
8. Install the DIMM:
a. Open the DIMM slot latches.
b. Align the notch on the bottom edge of the DIMM with the keyed surface of the DIMM slot, and
then fully press the DIMM into the slot until the latches snap back into place.
The DIMM slots are structured to ensure proper installation. If you try to insert a DIMM but it does
not fit easily into the slot, you might have positioned it incorrectly. Reverse the orientation of the
DIMM and insert it again.
9. Install the access panel.
10. Install the server into the rack.
11. Connect all peripheral cables to the server.
12. Connect each power cord to the server.
13. Connect each power cord to the power source.
14. Power up the server.
15. If removed, install the bezel.
The installation is complete.
