6. If the new controller is not the new boot device, install the device drivers.
7. If the controller firmware is not the latest version, use SPP to update it.
8. Use UEFI System Utilities or HPE Smart Storage Administrator (HPE SSA) to create arrays and
logical drives.

Processor heatsink assembly option
Processor cautions
CAUTION: To prevent possible server malfunction and damage to the equipment, multiprocessor
configurations must contain processors with the same part number.
CAUTION: If installing a processor with a faster speed, update the system ROM before installing
the processor.
To download firmware and view installation instructions, see the Hewlett Packard Enterprise
Support Center website.
CAUTION: THE CONTACTS ARE VERY FRAGILE AND EASILY DAMAGED. To avoid damage to
the socket or processor, do not touch the contacts.
CAUTION: To prevent mechanical damage or depositing oil on your hands or other contamination,
hold the heatsink only by the edge of its base plate. Do not touch the heatsink fins.
Installing a processor heatsink assembly
The server supports single-processor and dual processor operations.
Prerequisites
Before you perform this procedure, make sure that you have the following items available:
• Processor heatsink assembly option
• T-30 Torx screwdriver
Procedure
1. Identify the processor, heatsink, and socket module components.
2. Review the processor cautions.
3. Back up all server data.
