Ifthefuseblows,thepowerlampindicatorswillnotlightandtheoscilloscopewillnotoperate.Thefuseshouldnotnormally open
unlessaproblemhasdevelopedintheunit.Trytodetermineandcorrectthecauseoftheblownfuse.Therep1aceonlywithafuseofthecorrect
ratingandtype(seepage5)

5.2Cleaning
Tocleantheoscilloscope,useasoftclothdampenedinasolutionofmilddetergentandwater.Donotspraycleanerdirectlyon
totheoscilloscopebecauseitmayleakintothecabinetandcausedamage.
Donotusechemicalscontainingbenzine,benzene,toluene,xylene,acetone,orsimilarsolvents.
Donotuseabrasivecleanersonanyportionoftheoscilloscope.

6.ComponentTestOperation(OnlyTypeT)
Thecomponenttestboarddeliversasinevoltage(50Hzor60Hz)whichisappliedacrossthecomponentundertest.The
sinevoltageacrossthetestobjectisusedforthehorizontaldeflection(V)andvoltage-drop(currentthroughthetestobject)
isusedforverticaldeflection(I)oftheoscilloscope.
BythisV-Icharacteristiccurve,thegoodorfaultofcomponentismeasured.
7.Tosetuptheoscilloscope(OnlyTypeT)forcomponenttestoperation,proceedasfollows:
1.TurnTIME/DIVswitchtotheX-YpositionandsetbothverticalcouplingswitchestoDCpositionaswellassetting
upthebothVOLTS/DIVknobCH1(X)to5V/DIV,CH2(Y)to2V/DIV,thenpushtheCOMP.TESTSWToTEST
position.
2.Thenhorizontalbargraphofabout5~6divisdisplayedonthescreen.
3.ThepositionofgraphiscontrolledwithCH2POSITIONandH-POSITION.
4.Componetsmaybedirectlyhookedtotestingcode.Thenwaveformchartisdisplayedonthescreen.
