Safety and regulatory guide 7
As SAR is measured utilising the device’s highest transmitting
power, the actual SAR of this device while operating is typically
below that indicated above. This is due to automatic changes to
the power level of the device to ensure it only uses the minimum
power required to communicate with the network.
**Please see the following section about body worn operation
As with other mobile radio transmitting equipment, users are
advised that for satisfactory operation of the equipment and for
the safety of personnel, it is recommended that no part of the
human body be allowed to come too close to the antenna during
operation of the equipment.
Your device has an internal antenna. Use of unauthorised or
modified antennas may impair transmission quality and damage
the device, causing loss of performance and SAR levels exceeding
the recommended limits as well as result in non-compliance with
local regulatory requirements in your country.
To assure optimal wireless performance and ensure human
exposure to RF energy is within the guidelines set forth in the
relevant standards; always use your device only in its normal-use
position. Do not touch or hold the antenna area unnecessarily
when using the wireless function. Contact with the antenna area
may impair transmission quality and cause your device to operate
at a higher power level than needed. Avoiding contact with the
antenna area when the wireless function is IN USE optimises the
antenna performance and the battery life.
Body-worn Operation
This device was tested for typical body-worn operations. A
minimum separation distance must be maintained between the
user’s body and the handset, including the antenna:
0.5 cm to comply with the RF exposure requirements in the
U.S.
Third-party belt-clips, holsters, and similar accessories used by this
device should not contain any metallic components. Body-worn
accessories that do not meet these requirements may not comply
with RF exposure requirements and should be avoided.
Use only the supplied or an approved antenna. Unauthorized
antennas, modifications, or attachments could impair wireless
quality, damage the device, or result in violation of regulations. Do
not use the device with a damaged antenna. If a damaged antenna
comes into contact with the skin, a minor burn may result. Please
contact your local dealer for replacement antenna.
