Getting to know your phone Welcome to the brand new world of your HUAWEI Ascend P6 smartphone! Before we begin, let's take a quick look at the P6 and its external features. Use the headset delivered with your phone.
Installing the micro-SIM and microSD cards Only micro-SIM cards are compatible with your P6. To purchase or replace a micro-SIM card, contact your service provider. Before installing the micro-SIM or microSD card, take out the eject tool from the headset jack. Insert the end of the eject tool into the hole next to the micro-SIM or microSD card tray to release it. Then, follow the directions on the card tray to install the micro-SIM or microSD card. After you complete these steps, you are ready to use P6.
Using the buttons From any screen, you can: • Touch to return to the previous screen or exit an application. • Touch to return to the home screen. • Touch to display recently used applications. • Press the power button once to turn the screen on or off. Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds or more to restart your phone. • Press the power and volume down buttons at the same time to take a screenshot.
Managing contacts Touch to access People. If you are using your P6 for the first time, tap > More > Manage contacts to import contacts from a storage device to the phone. Touch the Groups tab to group your contacts for easier management.
Making a call Touch to access Phone. Dial the phone number you wish to call or touch to choose someone from your contacts. You can also dial a phone number directly from a message, email, or web page by simply touching the number.
Sending a message Touch to access Messaging. You can text your contacts or send a photo or audio clip in a multimedia message. After you receive multimedia messages, you can save the photos and audio clips in these messages.
Taking a photo Touch to access Camera. Your P6 features a BSI HD camera that lets you take photos in several modes, such as smart, beauty, and HDR. To capture your most attractive smiles, your P6 provides face detection. The camera automatically focuses on certain objects. To focus on a particular object, touch it on the viewfinder. Then, touch to take a photo.
Recording a video Touch to access Camera, and switch to video mode. Recording in 1080p full HD means stunning image quality and smooth video shots. Touch to begin recording.
Viewing photos Touch to access Gallery. Browse photos you have taken and relive those perfect moments. To play your photos in a slideshow, choose an album and touch > Slideshow. To edit a photo, touch . You can then crop it, adjust its color, apply filters to it, and more.
Sending an email Touch to access Email. Once you have set up your email accounts, you will be able to stay connected while on the go.
Listening to music Touch to access Music. Your P6 features Dolby Digital Plus, which produces superior surround sound through the stereo earphones provided. It makes high-pitched sounds clearer and low-pitched sounds more natural. In addition, the speaker is optimized to provide you with a supreme audio experience. To turn on Dolby Digital Plus, touch . Play your songs by name, artist, or album, and mark your favorite songs to add them to the My favorites list.
