Otherwise, the BM325 cannot be used normally. z Use the USB cable provided with the product. Figure 2-1 Connecting the BM325 To connect the BM325 to the PC, do as follows: Step 1 Step 2 Power on the PC. Use a USB cable to connect the BM325 to the PC. See Figure 2-1 for the connection details.

The system prompts "Safely remove hardware." Stop running the corresponding hardware of the BM325 on the device manager.

When the BWA Partner is running, choose Tools > Language to choose the proper user interface language. 3.2 Startup Settings of the BM325 After you install the BWA Partner and the device driver, you can set the startup parameters of the BWA Partner upon PC startup.

You can configure the authentication in the following steps: Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 Step 6 Step 7 Start the BWA Partner and click Profile. Select the key management type from the Privacy Key Management (PKM) drop-down list. If you select NO_PKM, go to Step 7.

Searching Frequency Point Smartly Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 Start the BWA Partner and click Profile. Click Frequency Setting. Enter the start frequency point and end frequency point. The value of the end frequency point must be higher than that of the start frequency point. Enter the step length of network searching in Frequency Step.

The icons indicating successful network connection and the signal strength are displayed at the bottom of the BWA Partner interface when connecting the network succeeded. ----End Disconnecting Network When you are not using the Internet, you can disconnect the network manually.

Use this function with caution. z Do not change the filename extension of the certificate file casually. The functions of the three types of certificates are as follows: z z z Private certificate: The certificate uploaded to the front end Authorization, Authentication, and Accounting (AAA) server by the terminal to perform device authentication.

EchoLife BM325 User Guide 5 Maintaining the BM325 5.1 Upgrading the BM325 z When you upgrade the BM325, do not unplug and re-plug the BM325 and ensure power supply to the device. z You need to restart the BM325 after the upgrade is completed. Wait patiently for a while. There are two methods to upgrade the BM325, including local upgrade and remote upgrade. 5.1.1 Local Upgrade Use the upgrade file delivered by the ISP for local upgrade.
EchoLife BM325 User Guide 5 Maintaining the BM325 ----End 5.2 Upgrading the BWA Partner Do not unplug and re-plug the BM325 and ensure power supply to the device when upgrading the BWA Partner. The update of the BWA Partner is nonscheduled. The BM325 prompts you to update the BWA Partner. To update the BWA Partner, do as follows: Step 1 Step 2 Start the BWA Partner and click Tools. Click Upgrade USB Modem Partner to update the BWA Partner. The BWA Partner is closed when updating. Double-click Startup.

The BM325 has three types of working status, including not connected to the network, connecting to the network, and connected to the network. The three types of working status are described as follows: z z z Not connected to the network: The device is about to set up a network connection.
EchoLife BM325 User Guide 6 Viewing Information About the BM325 6.4 Viewing the Traffic Information The traffic information includes the connection duration, amount of the WiMAX packets, and amount of the Ethernet packets. Start the BWA Partner and click Network to view the traffic information. 6.5 Viewing the Log Information The log information includes all types of information collected when the BM325 is running to facilitate maintenance.
EchoLife BM325 User Guide 7 FAQ 7 FAQ When the BM325 is connected to the PC for the first time, the system does not prompt you to install the BWA Partner. z After the system recognizes the new hardware, you need to wait a few minutes for the system to prepare the installation of the program. z Ensure that the BM325 is connected to the PC correctly and is displayed on the system tray. Otherwise, unplug the BM325 and connect it to the PC again.
EchoLife BM325 User Guide 7 FAQ The BM325 cannot access the network after the PC recovers from the dormant or standby mode. z Check by the following steps: Choose Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > Administrative Tools, and double-click Computer Management. 2. Choose System Tools > Device Manager. 3. Right-click EchoLife BM325 WiMAX USB Modem Device and select Uninstall. 4. Click OK. 5. Remove the BM325 from the PC after uninstalled, and then connect the BM325 to the PC again. 6.
