Enroll a Fingerprint to Unlock the Screen
You can enroll a
ngerprint on your Phone to unlock your screen, access Safe, or use App lock
without a password.
l Fingerprint unlock is only available when your unlock method is set to Pattern, 4-digit PIN,
Custom PIN or Password. When your Phone restarts or your
ngerprint is not recognized,
you will need to use your lock screen password to unlock the device.
l Before enrolling a ngerprint, make sure your nger is clean and dry.
1 Open Settings.
2 Go to Security & privacy > Fingerprint ID and follow the instructions to set or enter the lock
screen password.
3 Once you have done so, touch New ngerprint to enroll a ngerprint.
4 Place your ngertip on the ngerprint sensor and hold it there until your Phone vibrates. You can
touch it lightly or press down slightly harder, according to your personal preference. Repeat this
step using different parts of your ngertip.
5 After enrollment is complete, touch OK.
To unlock the screen, simply place your
nger on the ngerprint sensor. You can also customize the
screen unlock method by going to Settings > Security & privacy > Fingerprint ID > Unlock when
screen is off, and then selecting Rest nger or Press button.
