9.3 Will data be erased if I update my Phone?

Updating your Phone using a downloaded update package will erase some data, such as your

accounts, custom settings, installed applications, contacts, messages, email settings, browser

history, and bookmarks, but videos and images you saved on your Phone will not be erased.

Performing the online update on your Phone will not erase your data. For details, see the

version description.

To avoid data loss, it is recommended that you back up important data before updating your

Phone.

9.4 Will all data be erased if I restore my Phone to its

factory settings?

No. Restoring your Phone to its factory settings will erase some data, such as your accounts,

custom settings, installed applications, contacts, messages, email settings, browser history,

and bookmarks, but videos and images you saved on your Phone will not be erased.

To remove all files saved on your Phone, select Erase internal storage when you restore

factory settings.
