Essentials Basic Gestures Basic Gestures Air Gestures You can use gestures to take screenshots and scroll without touching the screen. Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Shortcuts & gestures > Air gestures, and ensure that Air scroll and Grabshot are enabled. Air scroll Hold your hand 20 to 40 cm (8 to 16 in.) away from the screen, and make a scrolling or horizontal sliding motion at the screen to scroll or turn pages.

Charging Charge Your Phone Your phone will alert you when it is running out of power. Please make sure to charge your phone in time to prevent it from turning off automatically when the power runs out. Precautions for Charging • Charge your phone using the standard adapter and USB cable that came with your device.

For example, you can edit a document on the external display while chatting on your phone. You don't need to worry about missing notifications, calls, or messages, as a red dot will appear on the notification panel on the external display to keep you informed.

Smart Features Access Phone Apps and Files on Your Computer Once your phone is connected to your computer, you can access apps and files from your phone on your computer without the hassle of having to frequently switch between the two devices. For example: • Click to open apps or view notifications. Right-click on the phone window to return to the home screen of your phone. Scroll up and down using the scroll wheel on your mouse.
Smart Features • Share pictures and videos from your phone to your laptop: 1 Select one or more pictures or videos from Gallery on your phone. 2 Tap the NFC area of your phone against the Huawei Share (or Magic-link) icon on the laptop and hold it there until your phone makes a sound or vibrates. Smart Features Huawei Share Huawei Share is a wireless sharing technology that allows you to quickly transfer images, videos, documents, and other types of files between devices. This technology relies on Bluetooth to discover nearby devices, and uses Wi-Fi Direct to transfer files without using mobile data.
Smart Features 1 On the receiving device, enable Huawei Share. 2 On the sending device, touch and hold the file you want to share, then go to More > . Touch Huawei Share, then touch the name of the receiving device to Share or touch send the file. The exact operations may vary if you are sharing files directly from apps. 3 On the receiving device, touch ACCEPT to accept the transfer. To view the received files, go to Files, select the Categories tab, then go to Internal storage > Huawei Share.
Smart Features 1 Make sure your phone and computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. If the computer is a MateBook (PC Manager earlier than version 9.1), this is not necessary. You can also share and revoke digital car keys at any time to minimize security risks. The digital key data is saved in the security chip of the device, meaning it cannot be stolen or copied. Even if your phone powers off due to low battery, it can still be used to open and start your car within 24 hours of shutdown.

Connect to a Wi-Fi Network Be extra careful when connecting to a free public Wi-Fi hotspot to avoid security risks and financial losses resulting from the leakage of your personal data.

Settings Wired Projection You can connect your phone to an external display (for example, a TV) using a wired connection. It is recommended that you purchase the accessories recommended or specified by Huawei from authorized sources. Projection Using a Type-C Cable 1 Prepare a Type-C cable. Use a Type-C to HDMI, Type-C to DP, or Type-C to MiniDP cable depending on your external display. 2 Connect the Type-C end to your phone and the other end to the external display.

Your phone will automatically adjust the screen brightness according to the ambient lighting conditions.
Settings Enable or Disable Natural Tone Natural tone enables your phone to simulate the way human eyes adapt to ambient lighting to automatically adjust the color temperature. When the ambient lighting is of a warm color temperature, the screen will take on a yellowish tint; when the ambient lighting is of a cold color temperature, the screen will take on a whitish tint. Go to Settings > Display & brightness > Color & Eye Comfort, and enable or disable Natural tone.
Settings Adjust Text Style Settings You can adjust the system text size and app display size, as well as the text style. Enlarge or Reduce Text Size Go to Settings > Display & brightness > Text and display size, and drag the slider for Text size. Enlarge or Reduce Display Size Display size determines the size of content (including text and images) displayed within apps. Add Apps in the Drawer to the Home Screen In Drawer mode, you can swipe up on the home screen to display the App Drawer. Touch and hold the app you want to add until your phone vibrates, then drag it to the desired position on the home screen.
Settings Disable the App Drawer To disable the App Drawer, set Home screen style to Standard. Fingerprint ID You can enroll a fingerprint and then use it to unlock the screen and access your Safe, App Lock, and more. Enroll an In-Screen Fingerprint For enhanced security, you can only enroll a fingerprint when Pattern, 4-digit PIN, Custom PIN, or Password is being used as the unlock method.
Settings 4 When the enrollment has been completed, touch OK. When the screen is locked, lift your phone and the in-screen fingerprint sensor will appear. You can now place your finger on the fingerprint sensor to unlock the screen. Rename or Delete a Fingerprint 1 Go to Settings > Biometrics & password > Fingerprint ID and enter your lock screen password. 2 In the Fingerprint list section, touch an enrolled fingerprint to rename or delete it.

Settings You can then touch a locked app on your home screen and use face recognition to access the app. Disable or Delete Facial Data On the Face Recognition screen, you can do the following: • Disable facial data for certain features: Disable Unlock device, or Access App Lock as required. This will not delete your facial data. • Delete facial data: Touch Delete facial data and follow the onscreen instructions to delete your facial data.
Settings 3 Alternatively, touch Change unlock method and select a password type, then follow the onscreen instructions to input a new password. Change the Lock Screen Password 1 On the Biometrics & password screen, go to Change lock screen password. 2 Enter the original lock screen password. 3 Enter a new password, or touch Change unlock method to select a password type, then follow the onscreen instructions to input a new password.
Settings Power Management On the Battery screen, you can check the estimated battery time remaining, and enable a power saving mode to extend the battery life of your phone. Optimize Phone Power Settings Go to Settings > Battery (or Optimizer > ) and touch Optimize battery usage. Your phone will automatically analyze the current power consumption issues, optimize certain settings, and recommend other setting optimizations.
Settings • When the battery level is extremely low, enable Ultra Power Saving mode. Your phone will then display a black home screen. To add apps you wish to use in Ultra Power Saving mode, touch from the list. You can touch to remove the apps, or touch , and select the apps in the upper right corner to exit Ultra Power Saving mode. • When the battery level is not extremely low, but you would still like to save power, enable Power Saving mode. When you've reached the app time limit, you will not be allowed to use this app until the following day. • Touch Bedtime, enable Bedtime, then set a bedtime schedule.

Accessibility Features Accessibility Screen reader apps, such as TalkBack, are designed to assist visually impaired users to use a phone. Convert Text to Speech The Text-to-speech (TTS) service enables your phone to read out screen content when you are using a screen reader app, such as TalkBack. On the Accessibility screen, touch Text-to-speech, then you can: • Select a preferred TTS engine.

However, they can't use functions that will interfere with the owner, such as restoring to factory settings, using phone clone, changing user rights, or creating a PrivateSpace. • Guest You can create a guest account for someone who only needs to use your phone temporarily. A guest account can only use limited, basic functions on your phone.
Settings Authorize a User or Guest Account to Make Calls and Send Messages You can set whether to allow a user or guest account to make calls, send SMS messages, and more. • After accessing your phone as the owner, go to Settings > Users & accounts > Users. • Touch the related account, and select the permissions you want to authorize.
