Purpose (or other comments)Item
Detailed local map Used to locate the HT. Must show true north,
streets, buildings, and landmarks. Helpful if the
map shows magnetic declination (or magnetic
north versus true north). A U.S. Geological
Survey map is recommended. A travel map will
suffice if it shows sufficient detail.
Ruler or straight edge Used to mark directions on map
Pencil or broad–tip pen Used to add markings to local map
Protractor May be useful as an aid in pointing the antenna.
Must show 0° increments from 0° to 180°.
Compass May be useful as an aid in pointing the antenna.
Must be accurate to within ±1°
Personnel safety lines For safety on roof
Back brace To protect against back injury while hoisting or
lifting equipment and installation materials
