Installing ODUs 6–7
RT installation
Determine (approximately) how high on the mast to install the
mount:
1. Determine the approximate desired antenna installation
height:
The ODU/antenna must be installed in line of sight with
the hub terminal (HT), with no obstructions. As a
general rule, install the RT ODU as high as possible on the
mast to avoid obstructions, unless the work order or RF
survey specifies the ODU height.
2. Refer to figure 6-5 for the mount position relative to the
position of the (not yet installed) antenna. As shown in this
illustration, when the antenna is installed (later), the antenna
vertical center is at the same height as the vertical center of
the mount.
