Loosen thumb screw #1. Move collar and sand container to the top of the post. Loosen thumb screw #2. The box will stay because it's sitting on the bottom collar. Loosen thumb screw #3. Slide box up pip until catch container fits under box. Tighten thumb screw #3. With the brass gauge #4 on the bottom of the sand tube, loosen thumb screw #1 and lower until the brass gauge is somewhere close to the sample plate, approximately 1 inch. Remove plastic window from the bottom box.
