Product Overview
The Hummingbird Networks 100% Cisco Compatible SFP-10G-ER optical transceiver module is for
transmission at 1550nm over single mode fiber. It supports Ethernet standards which make it ideally
suited for 10G data communications. It offers customers a wide variety of 10 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity
options for data center, enterprise wiring closet, and service provider transport applications.
The SFP-10G-ER series single mode transceiver is small form factor pluggable module for duplex optical
data communications such as 10GBASE-ER/EW defined by IEEE 802.3ae. It is with the SFP+ 20-pin
connector to allow hot plug capability. This module is designed for single mode fiber and operates at a
nominal wavelength of 1550 nm. The transmitter section uses a 1550nm multiple quantum well DFB,
which is class 1 laser compliant according to International Safety Standard IEC-60825. The receiver
section uses an integrated InGaAs detector preamplifier (IDP) mounted in an optical header and a limiting
post-amplifier IC.
