1.888.830.1326 BEFORE YOU BEGIN Read entire installation instructions carefully before beginning installation and save these instructions. Have the fan manual available for reference. If you are installing multiple remote-controlled fans on the same circuit breaker, you may need to perform a few extra steps to prevent interference or faulty operation of your remote controls. 1.888.830.1326 WHICH ASSEMBLY METHOD WILL I USE? Canopy Screw If your fan has not been installed, follow the TYPE-A ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS on page 4. If your fan is already installed and the canopy is held by two screws near the downrod as shown, follow the TYPE-B ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS on page 4. Canopy Screw If your fan is already installed and the canopy is held by three screws near the ceiling as shown, follow TYPE-C ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS on page 5.
1.888.830.1326 TYPE-A ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS 1 Go to page 6. Install the fan according to the fan’s manual, but do not install the canopy. Wire the grounding wire according the fan manual’s instructions. TYPE-B ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS 1 2 Go to page 6. Canopy Screw Remove the two canopy screws. Remove the two canopy halves. With wiring exposed, it may be helpful to note existing wire connections or take a digital photo for reference.
1.888.830.1326 TYPE-C ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS 1 2 Downrod Canopy Insert Canopy Setscrew Remove the three canopy screws. Lower the canopy and the canopy insert. With wiring exposed, it may be helpful to note existing wire connections or take a digital photo for reference. Remove the wire connectors that connect the wires from the outlet box to the fan. Unhook the fan from the ceiling. Remove the downrod by unscrewing the bottom set screw. Unscrew the downrod. Remove the canopy and canopy insert.
1.888.830.1326 Wiring FROM FAN RECEIV OM ER FR blue (light out) blue black (fan out) black white (common out) white CONNECT WIRES FROM RECEIVER TO FAN - Using the blue wire connectors connect the white wire from the receiver (marked “common out”) to the white wire from fan. Connect the black wire from the receiver (marked “fan out”) to the black wire from the fan. Connect the blue wire from the receiver (marked ”light out”) to the blue wire (or possibly black with white stripe) from the fan.
1.888.830.1326 Canopy Screw Canopy Screw Setscrew Push the two canopy halves from the kit together around the hanging system. Make sure that the receiver is tucked inside. Partially install the canopy screws from the kit into the screw holes. Slide the canopy up close to the ceiling. Tighten all four screws. Tighten the setcrew.
1.888.830.1326 Pairing er Pow n r Tu High ON Fan Off IMPORTANT Use the pull-chain switch on the fan to set the fan speed to the HIGH position before operation. Note: The remote must be paired before the fan will operate. Within 3 minutes of restoring power to the fan, press both the Fan Off button and the High button for at least 4 seconds. Your fan will turn on low to indicate successful syncing. If it does not, turn off power to your fan, wait 1 minute then try again.
1.888.830.1326 If your fan has a light kit: Quickly press the Light button to turn the lights off and on. Hold the Light button to raise and dim the light level. Safe-Exit The Safe-Exit Program gives you about thirty seconds of light when you turn the lights off to exit the room before the lights go out. To use Safe-Exit: Light • Press the Fan Off button for at least three seconds to initiate the Safe-Exit Mode. • The lights will flash for visual confirmation.
1.888.830.1326 TROUBLESHOOTING Fan will not start • • • • Make sure the power is on at the circuit breaker and the wall switch. Make sure the battery is working. Make sure that the transmitter and receiver are paired. Check wire connections inside of the canopy. Remote control of fan is erratic • Make sure the battery is installed correctly. • Install a fresh battery. Transmitter only works when held at close range • Change battery. Lights do not dim • Check to see if a CFL bulb is installed.
