FILTRATION SYSTEM
In order to maintain good air quality in your home, the power unit is equipped with a ltration
system It consists of a permanent lter and an optional disposable ltration bagThe lter
separates dust from the air
the permanent Filter
Husky’s ltration system will maintain its high performance
as long as it is well looked after
SILPURE is a natural protection (GREEN) against odour-
causing bacteria which exploits the natural power of silver in
stopping the growth of bacteria The permanent lter may
be machine-washed and tumble dried It is recommended
that the dust canister be emptied every three (3) months or
more often depending on the use you make of your system
The permanent lter should not be used when vacuuming moist or wet materials It must be
removed and cleaned when emptying the canister
IMPORTANT
DO NOT vacuum gypsum dust, our, mud, or any sludgy materials with the power
unit, except when the paper protection lter is slipped on the permanent lter.
If you are
not using a disposable ltration bag in addition to the permanent lter,
empty the dust canister regularly to ensure a longer-lasting life of the motor.
If you are
using the disposable ltration bag, it should be checked / changed as
often as you would empty the dust canister.
While emptying the power unit’s dust canister, the permanent lter should also be cleaned:
1 Unlatch the dust canister;
2 Wrap a plastic / paper bag around the lter and gently pat the lter to dislodge any loose
dust into the bag
3 Empty the dust canister into a garbage bag
NOTE
» We recommend that the permanent lter be deep-cleaned once a
year;
a Remove the dust from the lter by gently patting it into a bag as
mentioned above;
b Remove the lter by pulling it down;
c Drop it into the washer;
d Set the washer to a normal wash cycle (warm or cold water), then spin
dry (regular cycle) for 10 minutes;
e Before replacing the lter, clean the inside of the ltration cage.
IMPORTANT
Do not turn lter inside out. It must be replaced over the cage on the same fabric
side as initially mounted in the factory.
It is very important that the lter be slipped over the metal rim located at the top of
the cage. In order to prevent any dust inltration into the motor, the cage must be
completely covered by the lter;
f Clip the dust canister back onto the casing.
the disposable Filtration baG
In order to maximize your systems ltration capabilities, every Husky power unit comes with a
disposable ltration bag See below instructions on replacing the disposable ltration bag:
DISPOSABLE FILTRATION BAG VACUUM MODEL
FILTRE-186 P20-290-NA-CCA
The disposable ltration bag should be changed at least every 3 months to ensure proper
functioning of the power unit
To change the ltration bag, please proceed as follows:
1 Unlatch the dust canister;
2 Remove the disposable bag from the elbow attachment by gently pulling on both sides of
the cardboard cu;
3 Dispose of the full bag;
4 Slip the new disposable ltration bag onto the elbow xture by gently pressing on both
sides of the cardboard cu until it reaches the stop notch on the elbow
IMPORTANT
The warranty will be void if non-recommended lters are used to repair the unit.
Husky recommends strongly to use only Husky certied lters
DUST CANISTER
Excessive accumulation of dust and dirt in the canister will reduce the systems eciency It is
advisable to empty the canister frequently The unit is equipped with a high-level oat shuto
system which will block o the vacuum when the uid level gets to a certain level The unit
should then be shut o and the vacuum canister emptied
To get maximum eciency from your vacuum system, it is recommended to clean the canister,
the canister gasket and the ltration cage with a damp sponge or cloth after each vacuuming
of wet or sludgy materials
IMPORTANT
Do make sure the canister and the ltration cage are dry and clean before putting
back in place the permanent lter and ltration bag.
FLEXIBLE HOSE AND PIPING
After vacuuming wet or heavy and sludgy materials such as mud, it is advisable to thoroughly
clean the piping, the exible hose as well as all accessories used by vacuuming clean water
from the same vacuum inlet Let the unit vacuum air for a few minutes afterwards to empty
the piping of all residue and help dry it This precaution will help prevent clogging and/or
bacteria growth in the piping
IMPORTANT
For security measure, do not forget to take o the permanent lter and the paper
protection lter before vacuuming water to clean the piping as they could keep the
oater from functioning properly.
MOTOR
All units are equipped with a soft-start control module and have a LED communicating the
system status (see g 5 in section 9 for more details on LED colour interpretation) When the
LED changes to amber, it is time to make an appointment with a Husky certied technician for
a complete check-up of the unit This mandatory maintenance will extend the life of the unit
and keep the warranty valid If it is still not carried out after 20 hours of additional operating,
the device will automatically switch o as a safety measure
All systems also have a mini breaker (power cut-o) directly connected to the module which
protects the motor against an overload and prevents overheating
HOSE HANDLE
Wipe the hose handle regularly with a moist towel to avoid buildup
