OPERATION
Starting the Engine
1. Sit on the seat.
2. Raise the mower deck to the highest position.
3. Disengage the mower blades by pressing the
blade switch downwards.
4. Move the steering / park brake controls rmly
out to the locked position.
5. Move the throttle lever to the full throttle
position.
NOTE: There is a detent at the full throttle
position to aid in setting the control.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION Do not
operate the starter for more than ve seconds
each time. If the engine does not start, wait
approximately ten seconds before retrying.
7. When the engine starts, immediately release
the ignition key back to the run position.
8. Set the engine speed with the throttle. Let
the engine operate at a moderate speed,
approximately mid throttle, for a short time
before use. USE FULL THROTTLE WHEN
MOWING.
Running
1. Release the park brake by pulling the steering
/ park brake controls inwards to the neutral
position at the same time.
NOTE: The mower is equipped with an
operator presence system. If the operator
tries to leave the seat with the engine running,
without rst setting the park brake, the engine
will shut off.
2. Lower the mower deck to the desired cutting
height.
3. Move throttle control to full throttle (rabbit
symbol).
WARNING! Make sure that no one is
near mower when engaging blade switch.
6. Push in and turn the ignition key to the start
position.
If the temperature is below 32
O
F, move the
throttle lever up to the cold weather (snowake)
starting position.
When the engine has started, move the throttle
lever back to full throttle detent and let the
engine to warm up for a short period before
operating the unit. Failure to move the throttle
from the cold weather starting position will
result in unsatisfactory engine performance,
smoke and spark plug fouling.
