•Tohelpavoidunintentionallystartingthevehicle:
–Disconnectbatterycables,negative(–)cablerst(Figure2).
–Disconnectthesparkplugwirefromthesparkplug.
•Ifwiresareremovedorreplacedmakesurewiringandwireharnessareproperlyroutedandsecured.
Failuretoproperlyrouteandsecurewiringcouldresultinvehiclemalfunction,propertydamage,
personalinjury,ordeath.
•Liftonlyoneendofthevehicleatatime.Useasuitableliftingdevice(chainhoistorhydraulicoor
jack)with1000lb.(454kg)minimumliftingcapacity.Donotuseliftingdevicetoholdvehicleinraised
position.Useapprovedjackstandsofproperweightcapacitytosupportthevehicleandchock
thewheelsthatremainontheoor.Whennotperformingatestorserviceprocedurethatrequires
movementofthewheels,lockthebrakes.

•Ifanyproblemsarefoundduringscheduledinspectionorservice,donotoperatevehicleuntilrepairs
aremade.Failuretomakenecessaryrepairscouldresultinre,propertydamage,severepersonal
injury,ordeath.
NOTE:Ifthevehicleisconstantlysubjectedtoheavyuseorsevereoperatingconditions,thesepreventive
maintenanceproceduresshouldbeperformedmoreoftenthanrecommendedinthePeriodicServiceand
LubricationSchedules.
BoththePeriodicServiceScheduleandthePeriodicLubricationSchedulemustbefollowedtokeepvehiclein
optimumoperatingcondition.
