•Parkbrake:Whenlatched,theparkbrakeshouldlockthewheelsandholdthevehiclestationaryonanincline
of20%orless.T oadjustparkbrake,removerubberhandlecover(Figure6)andturnslottedadjustmentscrew
onerevolutionatatime,checkingeachtimeuntilparkbrakelockswheelsandholdsthevehiclestationaryon
aninclineof20%orless.
•Reversebuzzer:Ifequippedwithareversebuzzer,thereversebuzzershouldsoundasawarningwhenthe
Forward/ReversehandleisintheREVERSEposition.
•Steering:Thevehicleshouldbeeasytosteerandshouldnothaveanyplayinthesteeringwheel.
•Accelerator:AfterstartingtheenginewiththekeyswitchandplacingtheForward/Reversehandleinthe
FORWARDposition,thevehicleshouldacceleratesmoothlytofullspeedastheacceleratorpedalispressed.
Whenthepedalisreleaseditshouldreturntotheoriginalposition,andtheengineshouldidle.Thisvehicle
operatesatareducedspeedinreverse.
•Governor:Checkmaximumvehiclespeed.Thevehicleshouldoperateinforwardatamaximumspeedof25
mph(40km/h)onalevelsurface.
•DifferentialLockControl:Checkforproperoperation.SeeControlsandIndicatorsonpage13.
•FrontAxleDisconnectControl:Checkforproperoperation.SeeControlsandIndicatorsonpage13.
•General:Listenforanyunusualnoisessuchassqueaksorrattles.Checkthevehicle’srideandperformance.
Haveadealeroratrainedtechnicianinvestigateanythingunusual.

•Onlylicenseddriversshouldbeallowedtodrivethevehicle.
•Beforeallowinganyonetodrivethevehicle,makesurethedriverisfamiliarwithallcontrolsand
operatingprocedures.
•Nooneundertheageof16yearsshouldbeallowedtodrivethevehicle.
•Nomorethantwopersonsperbenchseatatonetime.Donotallowpeopletorideinanypartofthe
vehiclethatisnotequippedwithaseatandasafetybelt.Donotallowapassengertoholdachildin
hisorherlapwhilethevehicleismoving.
•Donotallowridersinthecargobed.
•Fornightuse,thevehiclemustbeequippedwithheadlights,taillights,andreectors.
•Thevehicleisnotspeciallyequippedforhandicappedpersons:
–Besureallpassengersarecapableofsecuringthemselvesinamovingvehiclebeforeallowing
themtorideinone.
–Besureallpersonscanproperlyoperatethevehiclepriortoallowingthemtodrivethevehicle.
•StopthevehiclebeforeshiftingtheForward/Reversehandle.Enginemustbeatidlebeforeshifting
theForward/Reversehandle.Failuretodosomayresultininjurytoinattentivepassengersand
(or)damagetothevehicle.
•Tohelpavoidbeingstruck,donotstandinfrontoforbehindthevehicle.
•Donotleavechildrenunattendedonvehicle.
•Childrenrequiringachildsafetyseatmustnotrideonthevehicle.Complywithstateandlocallaws
pertainingtochildsafety.
•Operatethevehiclefromthedriverseatonly.
