themwithBatteryTerminalProtectorSpray(P/N6030000-03).

1.MakesurethekeyswitchisintheOFFpositionandtheForward/ReversehandleisintheNEUTRALposition.

2.Restorethefuelsystemtooperation.
2.1.Removetheplugfromthefueltankvent.
2.2.Connecttheventtubetothefueltankvent.
3.Connectthebatterycables,positive(+)cablerst,andtightentheterminalsto80in-lb(9N·m).Coatterminals
withBatteryTerminalProtectorSpray(P/N6030000-03).
4.Completelyopenthefuelshut-offvalve(Figure11,Page29).Ensurethevalveisfullyopen.Apartiallyclosed
fuelshut-offvalvecombinedwiththeuseofthechokecanresultinafouledsparkplugandenginefailure.
5.PlacetheForward/ReversehandleintheNEUTRALposition.Cranktheengineuntilfuelispumpedintothe
carburetorandthefuellinesandtheenginestarts.Turntheengineoff.SeefollowingNOTE.
NOTE:Duetotheoiladdedtothegasolineengineinpreparationforstorage,theenginemaysmokeexcessivelyfora
shorttimewhenitisrunforthersttimeafterstorage.

Maintenance,replacement,orrepairoftheemissionscontroldevicesandsystemsmaybeperformedbyany
non-roadenginerepairestablishmentorindividual.However,toobtain“nocharge”emissionscontrolservice,
theworkmustbeperformedbyafactoryauthorizeddealer.SeetheEmissionsWarranty.
Toensuretrouble-freevehicleperformance,followanestablishedpreventivemaintenanceprogram.Regularand
consistentmaintenancecanpreventvehicledowntimeandexpensiverepairs.UsethePre-OperationandDailySafety
Checklistonpage20,thePerformanceInspectiononpage20,andthefollowingPeriodicServiceScheduleand
PeriodicLubricationScheduletokeepthevehicleinproperworkingcondition.
Anyvehiclenotfunctioningcorrectlyshouldnotbeuseduntilitisproperlyrepaired.Thiswillpreventfurtherdamageto
thevehicleandhelppreventinjurytooccupantsresultingfromunsafeconditions.
