PRE-OPERATIONANDDAILYSAFETYCHECKLIST
Eachvehiclehasbeenthoroughlyinspectedandadjustedatthefactory;however,uponreceivingyournewvehicle(s),
youshouldbecomefamiliarwiththecontrols,indicators,andoperation.Carefullyinspecteachvehicletoensurethatit
isinproperworkingconditionbeforeacceptingdelivery.
Usethefollowinglistasaguidetoinspectthevehicle.Thislistshouldbeuseddailyandinconjunctionwiththe
PerformanceInspectiononpage20andthePeriodicServiceScheduleonpage31toensurethatthevehicleisin
properworkingcondition.Anyproblemsshouldbecorrectedbyadealer/distributororatrainedtechnician.
•General:Allthepartsshouldbeinplaceandproperlyinstalled.Besurethatallnuts,bolts,andscrewsaretight.
Checkhoseclampsfortightt.
•Safetyandinformationdecals:Checktoensurethatallsafetyandinformationdecalsareinplaceandcanbe
readeasily.SeeSafetyDecalandFeatureIdenticationonpage5.
•ROPS:ChecktoensuretheROPSisnotdamagedandallhardwareissecure.SeeRoll-OverProtective
StructureandSeatBeltsonpage18.
•Seatbelts:Visuallyinspectforcuts,fraying,andlooseparts.SeeRoll-OverProtectiveStructureandSeat
Beltsonpage18.
•Tires:Checkforpropertirepressure.Visuallyinspecttiresforwear,damage,andproperinationonadailybasis.

•Battery:Checkelectrolytetoensureitisattheproperlevel(Figure30).Checkbatteryposts.Wiresshouldbetight
andfreeofcorrosion,andbatteryshouldbefullycharged.
•Engine:Checkforproperengineoilandcoolantlevelsandleaks.SeeEngineOilonpage35.Checkairlter
andreplaceifnecessary.
•Fuel:Checkfuellevel.SeeFuelingInstructionsonpage43.Checkfueltank,lines,fuelcap,pump,and
fuelltersforfuelleakage.
•Exhaustsystem:Checkforleaks.
•Hydraulicbrakes:Checkuidlevel.FillwithDOT5brakeuidonly.SeeBrakeFluidReservoironpage34.Wear
inthebrakesbeforeinitialvehicleoperation.Onaat,opensurface,acceleratethevehicletomoderatespeed,
thenapplythebrakesundermodest,steadypressure.Repeatthisprocedurevetimes.SeefollowingNOTE.
NOTE:Performthewear-inprocedurewhenthevehiclehasbeeninoperationforlessthanaweek,orwhenthe
brakepadsorrotorhavebeenreplaced.
•PerformanceInspection:Inspectasinstructed.SeePerformanceInspectiononpage20.
PERFORMANCEINSPECTION
Afteryouhavefamiliarizedyourselfwiththevehiclecontrolsandhavereadandunderstoodthedrivinginstructions,
takethevehicleforatestdrive.
Usethefollowinglist,inadditiontothePre-OperationandDailySafetyChecklistonpage20,asaguidetoinspectthe
vehicledailyforproperoperation.Anyproblemsshouldbecorrectedbyadealer/distributororatrainedtechnician.
•Forward/ReverseControl:Checkforproperoperation.SeeControlsandIndicatorsonpage13.
•Brakes:Besurethebrakesfunctionproperly.Whenbrakepedalisfullypressedundermoderatepressure,the
vehicleshouldcometoasmooth,straightstop.Ifthevehicleswervesorfailstostop,havethebrakesystem
checkedandservicedasrequired.Whenthebrakepedalisfullypressedunderheavypressure,thepedalshould
feelrmandthedistancebetweenthebackofthepedalandtheoorboardshouldbeaminimumof1.25inches(3.2
cm).Brakesmustbemaintainedsothebrakepedalcannotbepressedtotheoorboardunderanycircumstance.
