Thebrakeuidreservoir(5)islocatedunderthehoodandundertheroundaccesspanel(Figure13).Raisethehood
andremovetheroundaccesspaneltocheckthebrakeuidlevel.
Duringthebrakeuidlevelinspection,alsoinspectthefollowing:
•Thepresenceofbrakeuidontheexteriorsurfaceofthemastercylinderindicatesaleak.
•Thebrakeuidreservoirdiaphragm(locatedinthecap)shouldnothaveholesorotherdamage.
BRAKEFLUID
Brakeuidlevelshouldbewithin1/4-inch(6mm)fromthetopofthereservoir(Figure14).Also,brakeuidshouldbe
cleanwithnoresidueinthebottomofthereservoirorotherevidenceofcontamination.
CAUTION
•UseonlyDOT5(silicone)brakeuid.Useofanyothertypebrakeuidisnotrecommended.
ENGINEOIL
Eventhoughthelowoilpressurewarninglightontheinstrumentpanelshouldilluminateiftheoillevelbecomeslow,
theengineoillevelshouldbecheckeddaily.Thevehicleshouldbeonalevelsurfacewhentheoilischecked.
Donotoverlltheenginewithoil.
ENGINEOILLEVELCHECK
1.Removetheoilleveldipstickfromtheoilllertubeandwipeoilfromthedipstick(Figure15).Seefollowing
CAUTION.
CAUTION
•Donotremovedipstickwhileengineisrunning.
2.Checkoillevelbyfullyinsertingthedipstickintothetubeandimmediatelyremovingit.
3.Iftheoillevelisatorbelowthelowlevelmarkonthedipstickgauge,addoiltotheengineuntilthelevelis
betweenlowandfulllevels(safelevel).SeefollowingCAUTION.
CAUTION
•Donotexceedrecommendedoilcapacity.Doingsowilldecreaseengineperformanceorresultin
damagetotheengine.
