TransportingonaTrailer
Parkingthevehiclewithatraileronahillshouldbeavoided.Ifyoumustparkonahill,applythebrakesandhave
someonechockthetrailertires.Thebrakesshouldbereleasedtoallowthechockstoabsorbthetrailerload.Afterthe
trailertireshavebeenchocked,engagetheparkbrake.
TRANSPORTINGONATRAILER
WARNING
•Turnfuelshut-offvalvetotheclosed(OFF)position(Figure11).
•Donotallowridersinthetrailerbeingtowed.
•Avoidsuddenstarts,suddenstops,andtightturnswhentowing.
•Avoidstoppingonahillwhentowing.Ifyoumuststoponahill,avoidsuddenstarts,orrolling
backwardsandstoppingsuddenly.Failuretoheedthiswarningcouldcausethevehicletooverturn,
possiblyresultinginseverepersonalinjury.
•Reducenormaldrivingspeedwhentransportingavehicleonatrailer.
•Foruseonpublicroads,thetrailermustmeetallfederal,state,andlocalrequirementssuchas
taillights,brakelights,etc.
•Nevertowavehiclebehindapassengervehicleortruckonapublicroadunlessitisonanapproved
trailer.
•Thevehicletobetransportedshouldbetiedsecurelytothetrailer,withtheForward/Reversehandlein
theNEUTRALposition,thekeyswitchintheOFFposition,andtheparkbrakermlyengaged.
•Becauseoftheaddedlengthofthetrailer,usecautionwhenmakingturns.
•Donottransportthevehicleonatrailerwithaloadinthevehiclecargobed.
•Removethevehiclewindshieldandsecureseatsbeforetransportingonatrailer.
Ifthevehiclemustbetransportedoverlongdistancesoronpublichighways,itshouldbetransportedonanapproved
trailerthathasanapprovedloadratingof2000lb.(908kg)pervehiclebeingtransported.SeefollowingNOTE.
NOTE:Atwo-cartrailershouldberatedat2x2000lb.=4000lb.(2x908kg=1816kg).

•Keepfueloutofthereachofchildren.
•Donotsiphonfuelfromthevehicle.
