ENGINEOILANDFILTERCHANGE
Engineoilandoilltershouldbechangedaftertherst5to8hoursofoperation.Afterthat,theoilshouldbechanged
every100hoursofoperationorannually,whichevercomesrst.
EngineOilDraining
1.TurnthekeyswitchtotheOFFpositionandremovethekey.PlacetheForward/ReversehandleintheNEUTRAL
position.Chockthefrontwheels.
2.Disconnectthebatterycables,negative(–)cablerst.SeeWARNING“Toavoidunintentionallystarting...”in
GeneralWarningsonpage10.
3.Raisethecargobed,locateandremovethecenteraccesspanel(1)(Figure16).
4.Removetheoilllercaptoallowtheoiltodrainproperly.
5.Positionapandesignedforoilchangesunderthedrainplug.
6.Fromtheundersideofthevehicle,useasocketorwrenchtoremovethedrainplug(1)(Figure17).Turntheplug
counterclockwiseanddraintheengineoilintothepan.SeefollowingWARNING.
WARNING
Donotattempttochangeengineoilwhentheengineishotorevenwarm.Hotengineoilcanburnskin.
Wearsafetyglassesorapprovedeyeprotectionwhenservicingthevehicle.Wearrubbergloveswhen
handlingoildrainplug,oillter,andoildrainpan.
7.Cleantheoildrainplugthreadswithsolventtoremoveoilandoilresidue.Makesurethatthecompression
washerorsealingo-ringremainsonthedrainplug.Inspectthecompressionwasherorthesealingo-ring
andreplaceifnecessary.
8.Useasocketorwrenchtoreplacetheoildrainplug(1)(Figure17).Turntheplugclockwiseandtightento
14.5ft-lb(20N·m).
9.Replacetheoilllercap.
10.Replacethecenteraccesspanel(1)(Figure16),thenlowerandlatchthecargobed.
