TO,MODIFICATIONOFTHESPEEDGOVERNOR,BRAKINGSYSTEM,STEERING,TRANSAXLE,OROTHER
OPERATINGSYSTEMSOFTHEVEHICLETOCAUSEITTOPERFORMOUTSIDEHUSQVARNASPECIFICATIONS.
4.HOWTOMAKEAWARRANTYCLAIM:
Tomakeawarrantyclaimunderthislimitedwarranty,youmustpresentthevehicleordefectivecomponenttoan
authorizedHUSQVARNAdealerorsendthedefectivecomponent,freightprepaid,toWARRANTYSERVICES,

ONYOURENGINEEMISSIONSLABEL
EnginesthatarecertiedtomeettheCaliforniaAirResourcesBoard(CARB)Tier2EmissionStandardsmustdisplay
informationregardingtheEmissionsDurabilityperiodandtheAirIndex.Briggs&Strattonmakesthisinformation
availabletotheconsumeronouremissionlabelsTheengineemissionlabelwillindicatecerticationinformation.
TheEmissionsDurabilityPerioddescribesthenumberofhoursofactualrunningtimeforwhichtheengineis
certiedtobeemissionscompliant,assumingpropermaintenanceinaccordancewiththeOperating&Maintenance
Instructions.Thefollowingcategoriesareused:
Moderate:
Engineiscertiedtobeemissioncompliantfor125hoursofactualenginerunningtime.
Intermediate:
Engineiscertiedtobeemissioncompliantfor250hoursofactualenginerunningtime.
Extended:
Engineiscertiedtobeemissioncompliantfor500hoursofactualenginerunningtime.Forexample,atypical
walk-behindlawnmowerisused20to25hoursperyear.Therefore,theEmissionsDurabilityPeriodofanengine
withanintermediateratingwouldequateto10to12years.
CertainBriggs&StrattonengineswillbecertiedtomeettheUnitedStatesEnvironmentalProtectionAgency(USEPA)
Phase2emissionstandards.ForPhase2certiedengines,theEmissionsCompliancePeriodreferredtoonthe
