Overloadingcanaffectvehiclehandlingorcausecomponentfailure,resultinginlossofcontrolof
vehicleandpossibleseverepersonalinjuryordeath.
Donotloadtailgate.Thetailgateshouldbeintheuprightpositionandlatchedsecurelywhilethe
vehicleisinmotion.
Tohelpavoidshiftingvehicleloadandpossiblyoverturningthevehicle,avoidsuddenstarts,sudden
stopsandabruptturns.Makesurecargoiswellsecured.
Avoidtop-heavyloads.Thecenterofgravityofloadshouldneverexceed15inches(38cm)above
thebottomofthecargobed.
Thecargo’scenterofgravitymayaffecthandling,steering,andbrakingofthevehicle.Whenthe
vehicleisloaded,reducespeedanddriveslowlyinturns.
Unloadcargobedbeforeraisingvehiclewithalift,hoist,orjack.
Avoidstoppingonahillwhenloaded.Ifyoumuststoponahill,avoidsuddenstarts,orrolling
backwardsandstoppingsuddenly.Failuretoheedthiswarningmaycausevehicletooverturn,
possiblyresultinginseverepersonalinjury.
Reducespeedandavoidsuddenstopswhenbackingup.Failuretodosomaycausethevehicle
tooverturnoripoverbackwards.
Maximumcargoloadmustbereducedbytheweightofoptionalequipment.
