PREPARINGTHEVEHICLEFOREXTENDEDSTORAGE
1.Unloadthevehiclesothatthetiresaresupportingonlytheweightofthevehicle.
2.Storethevehicleinacool,dryplace.Thiswillminimizebatteryself-discharge.Ifthebatteryappearstobeweak,
haveitchargedbyatrainedtechnician.Useanautomotive-type12-voltbatterychargerratedat10ampsor
less.Checkelectrolytelevelafterchargingandadddistilledwaterifnecessary.Ifthebatteryisdead,see
UsingABoosterBattery(JumpStarting)onpage46.
3.MakesurethekeyswitchisintheOFFpositionandtheForward/ReversehandleisintheNEUTRALposition.

thefueltank.
4.1.Fillthefueltankwithfreshfuel.
4.2.Disconnectthefuelventlinefromthefueltankventnipple(Figure26).
4.3.Plugthefueltankventnipplesothatitisairtight.Husqvarnarecommendsusingaslip-onvinylcap.
5.Changeengineoil.SeeEngineOilandFilterChangeonpage36.
6.Disconnectbattery.SeeDisconnectingtheBatteryDieselVehiclesonpage10.
7.Thebatteryshouldbecleanandfreeofcorrosion.Washthebatterytopandterminalswithasolutionofbaking
sodaandwater(1cup(237mL)bakingsodaper1gallon(3.8L)ofwater).Rinsethesolutionoffthebattery.Do
notallowthissolutiontoenterthebattery.Besuretheterminalsaretight.Lettheterminalsdryandthencoat
themwithBatteryTerminalProtectorSpray(P/N6030000-03).
8.Adjustthetirestotherecommendedtirepressure.SeeVehicleSpecicationsonpage49.
9.Performsemiannualperiodiclubrication.SeePeriodicLubricationScheduleonpage33.
10.Thoroughlycleanthefrontbody,rearbody,seats,cargobed,enginecompartment,andundersideofvehicle.
