NOTE:Anoildripguard(1)canbeusedtopreventexcessoilfromdrippingontotheenginebaseplate(Figure18).
Useanemptyquart(oneliter)containerandcutthebottomoffatanangle,thenslidetheopenareaofthe
containerupandundertheoillter(2)beforeremoval.Positiontheportoftheplasticcontainersooilwillbe
directedintotheoilpan(3).Adripguardcanbemadebyfoldingapieceofcardboard,thinmetal,orplastic
undertheoillter,formingachanneltodirectthelterportoilintothedrainpan.
Disposeofusedoilaccordingtotheenvironmentallawsandregulationsforyourarea.

4.Useaclean,lint-freeragtowipetheoillterportangesurfacecleanwheretheoilltergasketseats.
5.Tohelpsealthenewoilltertotheoilportange,applyalightcoatofwhitelithiumNLGINumber2grease(Dow
Corning
®
BR2-Plusorequivalent)ornewengineoiltotherubbersealaroundtheoutsidesurfaceofthelter
beforeattachingittotheoillterport(Figure19).Installthenewoillter(P/N6030000-41)ontotheengineoil
lterport.SeefollowingNOTE.
NOTE:UseonlyHusqvarnaoilltersdesignedforyourengine.
6.Tightentheoillterbyhand2/3turnaftergasketcontact.Donotuseabandwrenchorchannellockpliers.
EngineOilFilling
1.Addengineoil;useafunnelorpourspouttodirecttheoilintotheopening(Figure20).Withlterchange,the
enginerequires3qt.(2.8L)ofoilfordieselvehicles.Refertooilviscosityguidelinesforselectionofoilgrade
(Figure21).SeefollowingCAUTION.
CAUTION
Donotexceedrecommendedoilcapacity.Doingsowilldecreaseengineperformanceorresultin
damagetotheengine.
2.Connectbattery.SeeConnectingtheBatteryDieselVehiclesonpage10.
3.WiththeForward/ReversehandleintheNEUTRALposition,startandruntheengineforafewminutes.Observe
boththedrainplugandtheoillterfromunderthevehicleandwatchforoilleaks.Ifaleakisdetected,check
thetightnessoftheoillteranddrainplug.Tighten,repair,and/orreplacecomponentsasnecessary.See
followingNOTE.
NOTE:Waitveminutesafterturningofftheenginebeforeremovingthedipstick.
4.Removethedipstickandchecktheengineoilasanalstep.Replacethedipstick.
