Eachgearcasecomponentisequippedwithtwooilportplugs(1and2)(Figure22,Figure23,andFigure24).When
thevehicleisonalevelsurface,usethelevelindicatorhole(upperplug)(1)asalubricantlevelindicator.Lubricant
levelshouldbeevenwiththebottomoflevelindicatorhole(1).

DIFFERENTIAL
Usethelowerplug(2)fordrainage(Figure22,Figure23,orFigure24).Removebothplugstoallowthelubricantto
drainfaster.SeeprecedingNOTE.
Frontdifferential:
Cleanandinstallthedrainplug(2)andwasherbeforellingthefrontdifferentialwithnewlubricant(Figure22).Tighten
thedrainplugto108in-lb(12N·m).Useafunnelwhenllingthefrontdifferentialthroughthelubricantlevelindicator
hole(1).SeePeriodicLubricationScheduleonpage33.Tightenthelevelindicatorplugto120in-lb(14N·m).

Cleanandinstallthedrainplug(2)beforellingthetransmissionwithnewlubricant(Figure23).Tightenthedrain
