CAUTION: If AutoTune
™
does not work
correctly, speak to your servicing dealer.
The product adjusts correctly after some
fuelings.
To replace a broken or worn starter
rope
1. Loosen the screws to the starter housing.
2. Remove the starter housing.
3. Pull out the starter rope approximately 30 cm/12 in
and put it in the notch on the pulley.
4. Let the pulley rotate slowly rearward to release the
recoil spring.
5. Remove the bolt in the center of the pulley and
remove the pulley.
6. Hold the starter rope handle.
7. Pull the starter rope until 1 cm of the spring guide is
shown. At the same time, press down the starter
handle cover and remove it from the starter rope
handle.

Note: If the starter rope is broken in the starter rope
handle, push the starter handle cover down. Use the
combination wrench to remove the starter handle
cover.
8. Attach a new starter rope to the pulley. Wind the
starter rope approximately 3 turns around the pulley.
9. Connect the pulley to the recoil spring. The end of
the recoil spring must engage in the pulley.
10. Attach the screw to the center of the pulley.
11. Pull the starter rope through the hole in the starter
housing, the starter rope handle and the spring
guide.
12. Make a knot 1 cm/0.5 in (A) from the end of the
starter rope.
13. Put the rope end or the starter rope parallel to the
knot.
