User Guide

After starting engine, steer as follows:
To go forward, move park brake lever to drive position,
and move the cruise control out of neutral (up posiiton) and
rotate H-bar handle forward (Fig. 3-9).
To go in reverse, rotate the H-bar handle to the neutral
position. After achieving neutral, rotate lever rearward.
To turn left, rotate the H-bar handle to the left and out of
the neutral position.
To turn right, rotate the H-bar handle to the right and out
of the neutral position.
To zero turn, rotate H-bar handle the direction desired
with the handle in the neutral position. This will allow the
drive wheels to counter-rotate.
To stop or decrease speed, move H-bar handle to neutral.
When going forward rotate handle rearward gently. When
going in reverse rotate handle forward.
DANGER: When traveling in reverse rotate
handle forward gently and avoid sudden
movement. Any sudden movement could cause
the front of the mower to come off of the ground
resulting in possible loss of control.
To increase speed, move the cruise control lever farther
forward. This allows the H-bar handle to rotate further from
neutral. The farther the H-bar handle is rotated forward from
neutral, the faster unit will travel forward. The farther the
H-bar handle is rotated rearward from neutral, the faster unit
will go in reverse.
Mower deck leveling
The mower deck has three areas that may need to be
checked and adjusted periodically. Before considering any
mower deck leveling adjustments, check that the tire air
pressure is within the specified range.
Deck level adjustments
Leveling the deck must be done in the following manner
and order:
1. Check tire pressures to make certain they are properly
inflated before starting to level deck. The
recommended pressures are as follows:
Drive wheels tire pressure....................8 - 12 psi
Gauge wheels tire pressure.................12 - 16 psi
WARNING: Stop engine. Place the H-bar lever
in the neutral position, move cruise control to the
neutral (down position), place park brake lever in
the park brake position and move deck clutch
switch to the disengaged (down) position.
2. Park the unit on a flat surface.
3. Set the deck at a cutting height of 3” (4th hole from the
top of pin).
4. Loosen the rear deck pin lock nut hardware. Fig. 3-11
5. Measure from level surface to top of mower deck (as
indicated in Fig. 3-10). Note this dimension.
6. Add 1/8” to this measurement and adjust the rear deck
pins until this dimension is achieved. Measure near
the rear deck pins.
7. Tighten the rear deck pin lock nut.
