Column drilling machine HU 30 TI 1. General safety rules for all machines N.B.: Read the instructions carefully in order to avoid any problems. As with all machinery there are certain hazards involved with operation and use of this machine. Using the machine with respect and caution will considerably lessen the possibility op personal injury. However, if normal safety precautions are overlooked or ignored, personal injury to the operator may occur.
Additional safety rules Always keep in mind that: • the machine must be switched off and disconnected from the power supply during maintenance and repairs, • clamped workpieces may only be measured when the machine is switched off. Never lean over the machine, mind loose clothing, ties, jewellery etc. and wear a cap. Do not remove safety devices or guards. Never use the machine while a guard is open. Always use safety glasses for machining rough materials.

Control of the feed depth The cutting depth is set by moving the scale nut on the scale rod. In batch production, the cutting depth is controlled by loosening screw (3), turning the hand wheel (2) and moving the scale nut to the desired depth. Coolant system Turn coolant pump switch (16) to the ‘on’ position, then turn the coolant valve (7) to control the coolant supply. Work table bracket By loosening lever (21) and turning lift handle (1) the work table bracket can be elevated to its desired height.

Protection of the main motor The main motor is protected by a 3VU1340 auto switch (QF1), which can protect the motor from overload. Protection of coolant pump The coolant pump is protected by means of a 3VE automatic switch (QF2). Tapping operation Tapping operation is controlled by contactors KM1, KM2 and select button SB6. The travel limit of tapping is controlled by SQ2, SQ3.
