Component names and functions The following explains the names and functions of the components on your system's control panel and steering wheel remote control. Control panel ÛÛNote Depending on the vehicle model or specifications, the system components' appearance and layout may differ from the actual product. Refer to the Quick Reference Guide. Reset button ••Restart the system. Power button (POWER)/ Volume knob (VOL) ••Turn the radio/media function on or off.
Setup button ••Access the settings screen. ••Press and hold to access the System Info screen. > See "System Info." Search knob (TUNE FILE) ••While listening to the radio, adjust the frequency or change the station. ••While playing media, search for a track/file (except for the Bluetooth audio mode). ••During a search, press to select the current track/file.
Call/Answer button ( ) ••Start connecting a mobile phone via Bluetooth. ••After a Bluetooth phone connection is made, access your call history. Press and hold to dial the most recent phone number. When a call comes in, answer the call. ••During a call, switch between the active call and the held call. Press and hold to switch the call between the system and the mobile phone. Call end button ( ) ••When a call comes in, reject the call. ••During a call, end the call.
Turning the system on or off The following explains how to turn the system on or off. Turning on the system 1 To turn on the system, start the engine. 2 When the safety warning appears, read it and press Confirm. ÝÝ Caution ••You can turn on the system when the key ignition switch is placed in the "ACC" or "ON" position. Using the system for an extended period without the engine running drains the battery. If you plan on using the system for a long time, start the engine.
Turning off the system If you do not want to use the system while driving, press and hold the Power button on the control panel. ••The screen and the sound will turn off. ••To use the system again, press the Power button. After you have turned off the engine, the system will automatically turn off after a while or as soon as you open the driver's door. ••Depending on the vehicle model or specifications, the system may turn off as soon as you turn off the engine.
Press and hold Slide Press an object and hold it for at least one second without lifting your finger. You can rewind or fast forward media by pressing and holding an appropriate button. You can change the playback position during media playback. On a playback screen, press and hold the progress bar, slide your finger along the progress bar, and then lift it at a desired location. Drag Press an object, drag it, and then drop it on a new location.

Changing the Home screen widgets Changing the Home screen menu icons You can change the types of widgets displayed on the Home screen. You can change the types and locations of menus on the Home screen. 1 1 On the Home screen, press Menu > Edit Left Widget or Edit Right Widget. ••Alternatively, press and hold the widget you want to change. 2 Select a desired function. ÛÛNote ••You cannot set the same function for the left and right widgets. On the Home screen, press Menu > Edit Home Icons.
Getting to know the All Menus screen You can view the all menus and access a desired function in the system. Getting familiar with the All Menus screen layout On the Home screen, press All Menus. a b Rearranging the All Menus screen Rearrange the menus on the All Menus screen. 1 On the Home screen, press All Menus. 2 Press Menu > Reorder Icons. ••Alternatively, press and hold anywhere on the All Menus screen. 3 Drag a menu to the desired location. c a Display the options list.
Using Favorites Add your frequently used functions to Favorites to access them quickly. You can add up to 24 items. Adding favorite items 1 On the Home screen, press All Menus > Favorites > Add to Favorites. ••If you have already added items, on the Favorites screen, press Menu > Add. Rearranging the items in Favorites You can rearrange the items added to Favorites. 1 On the Home screen, press All Menus > Favorites > Menu > Reorder Icons. ••Alternatively, press and hold an added item.

Using phone projection Phone projection enables you to connect your Android smartphone or iPhone to your system and use their functions via the system. You can perform and control your smartphone applications by using the larger screen and enhance your use of the system. ÝÝ Caution ••Using an approved USB cable provided by your smartphone manufacturer is recommended. Using unapproved USB cables may cause a phone projection error or a system malfunction.
2 Connect your smartphone to the USB port in your vehicle via the cable supplied with the smartphone. ••If you are connecting the device for phone projection for the first time, read the message on the notification pop-up window and press Next > OK. ÝÝ Caution Do not connect and disconnect a USB connector repeatedly in a short time. Doing so may cause an error in the device or a system malfunction. 3 If your smartphone is locked, unlock it and agree to use phone projection.
Connecting your iPhone via Apple CarPlay You can connect your iPhone and system via Apple CarPlay and control your smartphone applications on the system′s screen. Start Apple CarPlay by following the steps below: 1 On the Home screen, press All Menus > Setup > Device Connections > Apple CarPlay > Enable Apple CarPlay. 2 Connect your iPhone to the USB port in your vehicle via the cable supplied with the iPhone.
3 If your iPhone is locked, unlock it and agree to use phone projection. ••When the iPhone is recognized successfully, the Apple CarPlay menu is activated on the All Menus screen. 4 5 On the Home screen, press All Menus > Apple CarPlay. Use your iPhone's functions, such as calling and messaging, on your system. ••Press an icon on the screen to run an application or perform a function. ) to move to Press the KIA icon ( the Home screen of your system.
Getting to know the driving assistance screen You can view the outside of your vehicle on the system screen. Depending on the vehicle model, the displayed screens and available functions may vary. ÝÝ Caution The distance shown in the rear view screen may differ from the actual distance. For safety, be sure to visually check the rear, left, and right sides of your vehicle.
••If an object comes too close to your vehicle as you are parking the vehicle, a warning beep will sound. To prevent an accident that might result if you do not hear the beep, you can set the system to decrease the volume level of any media playing automatically when you are parking the vehicle. On the Home screen, press All Menus > Setup > Sound > Priority > Proximity Warning.
[[Checking your surroundings while driving To deactivate the surround view screen, press the [ ] button. Press the [ ÛÛNote ] button. ••The front view with the surround view is displayed on the screen. ••The feature is activated only in the following conditions: --When you are driving at 15 km/h or slower in ″D″ (Drive) --When you stop in ″D″ (Drive) or ″N″ (Neutral) Press one of the icons at the bottom of the screen to check the corresponding direction.
[[Checking the rear top view On the surround view screen, press to look down at what is behind you. ••The parking guides are displayed on the rear top view screen. --The parking guides indicate the space necessary to open the tailgate of your vehicle. It can help you see if there is enough space to open the tailgate after parking and if there is any obstacle to opening it. --An extension of your vehicle′s center appears. It shows the path of your vehicle′s center according to the steering angle.
h AUTO mode activated i Air conditioner turned on j SYNC mode activated. In SYNC mode, the temperature you set will be used for the driver's seat and the passenger's seat. Using data services You can access an array of information with data services, such as HD Radio™ or SiriusXM™. ÛÛNote ••HD Radio data services are only available in metropolitan areas. ••SiriusXM is a paid satellite radio service. Viewing weather information via SiriusXM Viewing fuel price information via SiriusXM 1 On the Home screen, touch All Menus > Data Services. 1 On the Home screen, touch All Menus > Data Services. 2 Touch SiriusXM Weather. 2 3 View today's weather information in your city. Touch SiriusXM Fuel Prices > Nearby Stations. 3 Search for nearby gas stations and check or compare fuel prices. ••To view weather forecasts for today and the next four days, touch 5 Days.
[[Setting a filter for searching for gas stations 1 On the Home screen, touch All Menus > Data Services. 2 Touch SiriusXM Fuel Prices > Filters. 3 Select the type of fuel your vehicle uses and your favorite brands. Viewing stock information via SiriusXM 1 On the Home screen, touch All Menus > Data Services. 2 Touch SiriusXM Stocks > Add. 3 Search for your favorite stock by entering a stock symbol in the search bar and then touch to add it to the list.
4 View real-time scores and schedules for major events and games. Radio Listening to the radio
Listening to the radio You can search for radio stations through various search methods and listen to them. You can also save your favorites radio stations to the preset list. d Radio station information f Preset list Press All Menus > Radio on the Home screen, or press the Radio button on the control panel. a b c g Preview each radio station for a few seconds and select the one you want. Changing the radio mode On the radio screen, press FM/ AM to switch between the radio modes.
Searching for radio stations You can search for radio stations by changing frequencies. To change frequencies, press the Search backward button (SEEK) or the Search forward button (TRACK) on the control panel. ••An available radio station will be selected automatically. Saving radio stations You can save your favorite radio stations and listen to them by selecting from the preset list. Press the star icon ( ) next to the current radio station information.
Rearranging the preset list 1 On the radio screen, press Menu > Reorder Presets. 2 Press next to the radio station you want to move and drag it to a desired location. ••Your changes will be applied to the preset list immediately. 3 Press to finish. ÛÛNote To sort the preset list in frequency order, press Menu > Auto-sort Presets. Deleting saved radio stations 1 On the radio screen, press Menu > Delete Presets. 2 Select the radio station you want to delete and press Delete > Yes.
Listening to HD Radio™ If you enable HD Radio reception by touching , you can listen to HD Radio stations in areas where they are available. When HD Radio signals are received, the radio will switch from the analog mode to the HD mode. In the HD mode, HD Radio station buttons are displayed at the top of the radio screen. Touch a button to select one of the available HD Radio stations. ÛÛNote Program Info: Presents song name, artist, station IDs, and other relevant data streams. Digital, CD-quality sound.
Listening to SiriusXM™ radio You can listen to radio channels provided by SiriusXM, a satellite radio service. Various kinds of channels, such as music, sports, and news, are available via streaming or live broadcast. On the radio screen, touch Band > SiriusXM. c Return to the previous level. d Switch to the live broadcast mode. This button is activated only when a live broadcast is available on the selected channel. e Move to the previous segment.
Searching for SiriusXM radio channels Selecting channels by using channel numbers You can select a channel from the available SiriusXM channels list. If you know the exact channel number, you can enter it to select the channel directly. 1 On the radio screen, touch Band > SiriusXM. 1 2 On the SiriusXM radio screen, touch Channel List. On the radio screen, touch Band > SiriusXM. 2 3 On the SiriusXM radio screen, touch Direct Tune. Select a category and a channel.
Viewing the program schedule Listening to Featured Favorites channels You can view the program schedule and information for the channels stored in your preset list. You can listen to Featured Favorites channels on SiriusXM radio. Multiple sets of channels can be broadcast and can be changed by SiriusXM. 1 On the radio screen, touch Band > SiriusXM. 1 2 On the SiriusXM radio screen, touch Menu > What is on My Presets?. On the radio screen, touch Band > SiriusXM.
Media Using the media
Using the media Listening to music from a USB device You can play media files stored in portable devices, such as USB storage devices and MP3 players. Check compatible USB storage devices and file specifications before using the USB mode. > See ″USB 2 Press All Menus > Media on the Home screen, or press the Media button on the control panel. ••The media player is displayed in full screen.
d Information about the song currently playing. Press a song′s artist or album information to access a list of songs by the artist or from the album playing. e Current file number and total number of files f Change the repeat play mode. g Activate or deactivate the shuffle play mode. h Hide the current file. i Restart the current playback or play the previous file. Press and hold to rewind. j Pause or resume playback. k Play the next file. Press and hold to fast forward.
[[Controlling the USB player Playing the previous or next song Press within the first three seconds of the current song to play the previous song. After three seconds of playback twice. Press have elapsed, press to play the next song. Use the buttons on the media player screen to control the music playback. ••Alternatively, use the Search backward button (SEEK) or the Search forward button (TRACK) on the control panel. ••You can also use the Search lever/ button on the steering wheel.
Playing in random order Press to shuffle the play order. ••When you activate the shuffle play mode, the icon on the button turns red. Hiding the current file Press to hide the currently playing file from the system. The file is moved to the ″Hidden_″ folder. ÛÛNote [[Searching for music files on a files list Access a files list to search for and select a song. 1 On the music playback screen, press List. 2 Press the screen to open a folder, move to another category, or play a music file.
Listening to music via Bluetooth a If two Bluetooth audio devices are connected to your system, select a device to play music from. You can listen to music stored in the connected Bluetooth audio device via your vehicle's speakers. [[Starting the Bluetooth audio player 1 Connect a Bluetooth-enabled device to your system, such as a mobile phone or an MP3 player. > See ″Connecting Bluetooth devices.″ 2 Press All Menus > Media on the Home screen, or press the Media button on the control panel.
ÛÛNote Pausing/Resuming playback ••Depending on the amplifier specifications applied to your vehicle, the sound effect setting button may appear on the screen. Press to music playback. Press resume recording. ••Depending on the connected Bluetooth device, mobile phone, or the music player you are using, playback controls may differ. to Restarting the current playback After three seconds of playback have to restart the current elapsed, press song.
Phone Connecting Bluetooth devices Making a call via Bluetooth Answering a call via Bluetooth
Connecting Bluetooth devices 1 Bluetooth is a short-range wireless networking technology. Via Bluetooth, you can connect nearby mobile devices wirelessly to send and receive data between connected devices. This enables you to use your devices effectively. On your system, you can use only the Bluetooth Handsfree and Audio features. Connect a mobile device that supports the Bluetooth Handsfree or Audio feature.
4 5 Ensure that the Bluetooth passkeys displayed on the Bluetooth device screen and the system screen are the same and confirm the connection from the device. Connecting a paired device If you are connecting a mobile phone, permit the system to access and download your data from the device. 1 On the Home screen, press All Menus > Setup > Device Connections > Bluetooth > Bluetooth Connections. 2 Press a device name or Connect. ••Downloading data is only for Bluetooth call functions.
f Select a function you want to use on the Bluetooth device. Deleting paired devices g Pair a new device with your system. If you no longer want a Bluetooth device paired or if you want to connect a new device when the Bluetooth devices list is full, delete paired devices. h Delete paired devices. Downloaded data from devices will also be deleted.
Making a call via Bluetooth By connecting a device that supports Bluetooth Handsfree, you can use the Bluetooth phone feature on your system. This feature enables you to talk on the phone hands free via Bluetooth. View call information on the system screen, and make or receive calls safely and conveniently via the vehicle's built-in microphone and speakers. ÜÜ Warning ••Park your vehicle in a safe location before connecting any Bluetooth devices.
••User's Manual on Web (QR Code): Access the web manual via the QR code. For safety reasons, you can access the QR code only when your vehicle is stationary. b Return to the previous level. c Call records downloaded from your mobile phone d View all call records. e View only dialed calls. f View only received calls. Dialing from your favorites list If you register frequently used phone numbers as your favorites, you can find them and dial them quickly.
ÛÛNote a b ••You can register up to 10 favorites for each device. c ••Emergency service numbers are stored by default on the favorites list for immediate use in an emergency situation. ••To delete one of your favorites, on the favorites screen, press Menu > Delete. ••When you connect a new mobile phone, your favorites set for the previous mobile phone will not be displayed, but they will remain in your system until you delete the previous phone from the devices list.
Dialing from your contacts list You can make a call by selecting one of your contacts downloaded from the connected mobile phone. 1 On the Home screen, press All Menus > Phone. ••Alternatively, press the Call/Answer button on the steering wheel. ••If the Bluetooth Handsfree feature is deactivated, the device selection pop-up window appears. Connect a mobile phone by selecting one from your list of paired devices or by pairing a new one. 2 On the Bluetooth phone screen, press .
••If you have set up speed dial numbers on the mobile phone, you can make a call by pressing and holding a speed dial number on the keypad. Depending on the mobile phone type, the speed dialing function may not be supported. ••Permission is required to download contacts from the mobile phone. When you attempt to download data, you may need to permit the download on the mobile phone. If the download fails, check the mobile phone screen for any notification or the mobile phone's permission setting.

ÜÜ Warning ••Park your vehicle in a safe location before connecting any Bluetooth devices. Distracted driving can cause a traffic accident and lead to personal injury or death. ••Never pick up your mobile phone while driving. Use of a mobile phone may distract your attention, making it difficult to recognize external conditions and reducing the ability to cope with unexpected situations, which may lead to an accident.
Switching between calls If your mobile phone supports call waiting, you can accept a second call. The first call is put on hold. To switch between the active call and the held call, press Switch or press the phone number displayed on the call screen. ÛÛNote Depending on the mobile phone type, this function may not be supported.
Voice functions Using Voice Memo
Using Voice Memo Recording voice memos You can record voice memos using the microphone installed in your vehicle and play voice memos on your system. 1 On the Home screen, press All Menus > Voice Memo. 2 On the voice memo screen, press . Starting Voice Memo On the Home screen, press All Menus > Voice Memo. a b ••Press to pause recording. Press to resume recording. 3 Press to stop recording. ••Alternatively, press the Call end button on the steering wheel.

UVO services Activating the service UVO provides connected car services, such as roadside assistance and emergency rescue, via the latest IT and communication technologies. You must activate UVO services to use them. An account with MyUVO.com is required for activation. If you do not already have an account, you will be prompted to create one. If you already have an account, enter the verification code you received from MyUVO.com.
4 Enter the verification code you received from MyUVO.com and touch Submit. ••Activation will begin. While the activation is in progress, the system buttons will be locked. ÝÝ Caution Do not turn off the engine while activation is in progress. Doing so may cause the system to malfunction. ÛÛNote ••If the activation fails, contact the UVO Center at (844) UVO-9411. ••If your UVO service has expired, you can reactivate by renewing your subscription at MyUVO.
Locating the UVO buttons You can access UVO services via the buttons on your inside rearview mirror. a Call the UVO Center. b Start Voice Local Search to search for locations using voice commands. c Call for roadside assistance. ÛÛNote Depending on the vehicle model and specifications, the illustration shown may differ in appearance and layout. Using the UVO menu You can use UVO services via the UVO menu in your system. On the Home screen, touch All Menus > UVO.
ÜÜ Warning Distracted driving can result in a loss of vehicle control, leading to an accident, severe bodily injury, or death. The driver's primary responsibility is the safe and legal operation of the vehicle, and the use of any vehicle systems, including the touch screen and steering wheel controls, which take the driver's eyes, attention, and focus away from the safe operation of the vehicle, or which are not permissible by law, should never be used during the operation of the vehicle.
Diagnosing your vehicle If you are curious about whether or not there is a problem with your vehicle, you can perform a vehicle diagnosis. With a vehicle diagnosis, you can schedule maintenance. 1 Park your vehicle in a safe location. ••Depending on the vehicle model or specifications, you may need to ensure your vehicle is parked before performing a diagnosis. 2 On the Home screen, touch All Menus > UVO > Vehicle Diagnostics. ••A remote diagnosis will begin.
3 Check the location information. Contacting the UVO Center You can contact a UVO Center customer care representative directly to request help or to inquire about using UVO services. a Return to the previous level. b Dial the selected POI. This feature is enabled only if a phone number is provided with the information received. c View the location of the selected POI on the map. ÛÛNote ••You can save up to 200 POIs. ••To delete locations from the list, touch Menu > Delete.
Using Local Search by Voice Commands With UVO, you can search for locations from the online map database by using voice commands. If your map or system has not been recently updated, or if you are having difficulty finding your destination, you can use the latest information from our online server to look up locations or receive guidance. 1 On your inside rearview mirror, ] button. press the [ ••Voice recognition starts with a voice guidance.
Using 911 Connect This feature provides you with immediate assistance in the event of an accident or when any airbag is deployed. First, activate the 911 Connect feature. 1 On the Home screen, touch All Menus > UVO > UVO Settings. 2 Select 911 Connect to activate. 3 Read the terms of use and touch Agree. ••The feature will be activated and symbol will appear at the top a right of the screen.

Configuring the vehicle settings (if equipped) You can change the settings related to driving or the interior and exterior environment of your vehicle. On the Home screen, press All Menus > Setup > Vehicle and select an option to change. [[Drive Mode Change Alert (if equipped) You can set to display a notification when you change your vehicle′s drive mode. ••Detailed Alert: When you change the drive mode, a detailed notification will be displayed with the vehicle image.
Coasting (if equipped) You can set the vehicle to disengage the engine from the transmission while coasting in ECO mode to save fuel. Seat Position Change Alert (if equipped) You can set the system to display a notification when you change the position, height, or angle of the driver′s seat. Smart Posture Care (if equipped) You can enter your body measurements to analyze your posture and adjust the driver′s seat to change to the optimal posture.
Climate (if equipped) You can change the vehicle′s climate control settings. [[Defog/Defrost Options (if equipped) You can change the defog/defrost settings. ••Auto Defog: Set to operate the climate control system automatically to prevent fog from forming on the front windshield. ÛÛNote Depending on the climate control specifications, some functions may not be supported.
