A: WOF comes with a 3-year warranty while tray comes with a 1-
year warranty. And because it is easier to purchase and carry,
WOF product may be more readily available via distribution.
Q: Why buy WOF instead of PIB?
A: Customers developing rack-dense AMD Opteron processor
solutions should purchase WOF instead of PIB.
– While both WOF and PIB come with a 3-year warranty, a PIB customer voids
their 3-year warranty if they do not use the included AMD heatsink.
– AMD will always price WOF less than PIB.
– With WOF there’s no heatsink to dispose of.
– No heatsink to return under RMA with WOF
