The robust, full support offering for customers using VMware in production environments who want an integrated support contract including:
VMware product support, Guest Operating Systems support within the partitions (MS Windows and/or Linux) plus IBM Director support.
a. Provides a single point of contact for questions on VMware / Windows / Linux / IBM Director on System x
b. Answers 'how to' / defect and usage questions on VMware + Windows / Linux and IBM Director
c. Gives customers easy access to our VMware, Microsoft & Linux + IBM Director skills (Windows / Linux / IBM Director skills excluded from Gold and Platinum options)
d. Provides 9 x 5 coverage (For customer critical operation problems 24 x 7) > (Part Numbers 12X6780 to 12X6787)
e. Complements the total VMware solution from IBM by supporting the following:
- ESX Server, VMFS, Virtual SMP, VC Agent, Update Manager and Consolidated Backup,
- High Availability, VMotion, Storage VMotion, VCMS
- Red Hat Linux, Novell SuSE Linux, IBM Director
f. Helps reduce downtime and therefore increase productivity
g. Allows the packaging of software support into the HW and SW Sale
h. Provides defect support
i. Supplements internal staff with IBM's skills in these product areas.
j. Support Line staff have many years of experience in supporting environments from multiple vendors and dealing with multiple escalation-routes to the different vendors
(VMware / Microsoft / Red Hat / Novell SuSE) enabling us to provide integrated support.
j. Part Numbers 46D3512 to 46D3519 provide 8x5 (office hours - Monday to Friday support)
k. Highest level of support available within a ServicePac for VMware envrionments on System x / Blade

Basic level VMware support within a ServicePac (not sold standalone) only providing support on selected VMware products - no guest OS or IBM Director support.
a. Gold level support provides 9x5 support
b. Platinum level support provides 24 x7 for customer critical operation problems
c. Designed primarily for the pilot phase of a VMware implementation
d. Support for full production environments is best provided by part numbers 12X6780-7 and 46D3512-19
e. Support for VCMS is not included within these part numbers.
