attached.Therearenoserviceablepartsinsidethesecomponents.Ifyoususpectaproblemwith
oneoftheseparts,contactaservicetechnician.
Beforeyoubegin,printalltherelatedinstructionsorensurethatyoucanviewthePDFversiononanother
computerforreference.
Note:Dependingonthemodel,yourservermightlookslightlydifferentfromtheillustrationsinthistopic.
Toreplacethepowerdistributionboardandcageassembly,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Removethehot-swapredundantpowersupplymodule(s).See“Replacingahot-swapredundant
powersupplymodule”onpage140.
Note:Ifyourservercomeswithonehot-swapredundantpowersupplymoduleinstalledinthe
redundantpowersupplymodulebay1(thebaynumberismarkedontherearofthechassis),thereisa
shiedinstalledonbay2toprotecttheemptybay.Removetheshieldandsaveitforfutureuse.
3.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage85.
4.Laytheserveronitssideforeasieroperation.
5.Removethefrontsystemfan(s).See“Replacingthefrontsystemfan”onpage149.
6.Notedownthecableroutingandconnection.Then,disconnectthepowercablesofthepower
distributionboardandcageassemblyfromthesystemboardandalldrives.Forservermodelswith
hot-swapharddiskdrives,youalsoneedtodisconnectthepowercable(s)fromthehot-swaphard
diskdrivebackplane(s).
7.Releasethepowercablesofthepowerdistributionboardandcageassemblyfromthecableclips
andtiesinthechassis.
