Encryption function Analog Talk Back function
(For the Conventional operation)
The Encryption function enables voice scrambling,
which provides private digital communication between
stations�
When an encrypted call is received, the squelch will
open only when the call contains a matching Key ID*�
If a call containing a different Key ID* is made on the
same channel, the squelch will not open, and the user
will not hear the call�
* Depending on the presetting, opening the squelch may
also require that a matching RAN is included in the call�
Push [Scrambler/Encryption] to toggle the Encryption
function ON or OFF
• “ is displayed when the Encryption function is ON�
L When the Encryption function is ON, push [PTT] to make
an encrypted call�
When receiving an Analog signal on a "Mixed-Digi"
channel, the Talk Back function enables transmitting
an Analog signal during the Analog Talk Back timer
period�
L After receiving an Analog signal on the "Mixed-Digi"
channel, “ANALOG” is displayed during the Talk
Back timer period� (Depending on the presetting)
NOTE: When this function is OFF, the transceiver
always transmits Digital signals on the “Mixed-
Digital” channels�
L On the “Mixed-Digital” channels, the transceiver
can receive both Analog and Digital signals,
regardless of this function setting�
