FUNCTIONS FOR RECEIVE
Noise blanker
The Noise blanker eliminates pulse-type noise such as
the noise from car ignitions.
The Noise blanker cannot be used in the FM mode.
q Push [NB] to turn ON the Noise blanker function.
• [NB] indicator lights.
Pushing [NB] toggles the Noise blanker function ON or
OFF.
w Rotate the [NB] control to adjust the Noise blanker
threshold level.
The desired signal may be distorted if you rotate the
[NB] control to the extreme right.
Adjust to the appropriate position, according to the noise
level or operating environment.
NOTE: When using the Noise blanker, received sig-
nals may be distorted if they are excessively strong
or the noise type is other than pulse type. In that
case, turn the Noise blanker OFF, or rotate the [NB]
control to a shallow position.

NB Set mode
To deal with various type of noise, the attenuation level
and noise width can be set in the NB screen.
q Hold down [NB] for 1 second.
The NB screen is displayed.
w Push [Y](F) or [Z](F) to select the desired item.
e
Rotate [MAIN DIAL] to set the desired level or value.
Hold down [DEF](F) for 1 second to select the default
value.
r Push [EXIT/SET].
Exits the NB screen.
NB Depth (Default: 8)
Sets the noise attenuation level.
Level value is between 1 and 10
NB Width (Default: 50)
Sets the noise pulse width.
Width value is between 1 and 100
