FUNCTIONS FOR TRANSMIT
About the VOX function
The VOX (Voice-Operated Transmission) function
switches between transmit and receive with your voice.
This function provides hands-free operation.

Turning ON the VOX function
q Push the Mode key to select a phone mode (SSB,
AM, FM).
w Push [VOX/BK-IN].
“VOX” is displayed and the VOX function is turned ON.
The [VOX/BK-IN] indicator above this key lights white.

Adjusting the VOX function
q Push the Mode key to select a phone mode (SSB,
AM, FM).
w Push [VOX/BK-IN].
“VOX” is displayed and the VOX function is turned ON.
The [VOX/BK-IN] indicator above this key lights white.
e While speaking into the microphone at your normal
voice level, rotate [VOX GAIN] to the point where the
transceiver continuously transmits.
Higher values make the VOX function more sensitive to
your voice.
r While receiving, rotate [ANTI VOX] to the point
where the transceiver does not switch to transmit
due to sound from the speaker or other sources.
Higher values make the VOX function less sensitive to
sound from the speaker or other sources.
t Adjust the VOX delay and the VOX voice delay in the
VOX set screen, if necessary.
