You must select the proper channels for the operating area. *Available with the USA versions only. The IC-M72 has 10 weather channels. They are used for monitoring NOAA (National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration) broadcasts (reception of weather channels possible in U.S.A. only).

The transceiver has a priority scan setting and normal scan setting. Set the TAG channels (scanned channel) before scanning. Clear those TAG channels which are not needed or inconveniently stop scanning, such as digital communications. In addition, the “Weather alert” and “Auto scan” functions are also available for scanning.
