WATER DETECTOR
Leaks can go undetected for hours or days from: Appliances, ruptured hot
water tanks, overflowing sinks, tubs and toilets, leaky roofs, burst pipes,
sewer backup, and heavy rainfall.
IDEAL Flood & Overflow alarms can provide early warning to minimize
costly damage from leaks or floods.
The Ideal Security SK606 Water Detector functions as a stand alone
device. It has a built-in 105 dB alarm and 90 dB chime. It does not connect
to other IDEAL wireless devices.
This is a battery operated detector, no wiring is required.
NOTE: The sensor must be protected from the elements, temperatures
below -10°C (14°F) may cause batteries to freeze or operate ineffectively.

FEATURES
Detects water and activates either a 105 dB alarm or a pleasant chime.

Battery low indication: The unit will beep every 2 minutes
when the battery is week.
SET UP AND INSTALLATION
1. Slide open the battery
compartment cover and insert
a 9V battery (not included).
2. Determine a spot for the sensor
(near sump pumps, hot water tanks,
washing machines, dishwashers, sinks, toilets).
Place the sensor probe flat or use the suction cup if the surface is smooth.
Place the the alarm where it will be protected. It may be mounted in a
permanent manner using the screws provided.
NOTE: To avoid false alarms do not place the sensor contacts directly
on humid concrete.
3. Once sensor location is chosen move the slide switch to either ALARM
or CHIME to turn the unit on. Wait (about 30 seconds) for activation BEEP.
The unit is now in standby mode.
4. Test the unit by placing the sensor in water. The built in alarm will sound
continuously when exposed to water until the battery is exhausted. The
alarm will reset when water is no longer detected.
NOTE: The alarm is very loud, never put the system close to your ear.
NOTE: If The water sensor sends no signals when wet make sure that
the metal contacts on the sensor are not corroded. Gently scrape the
contacts with a sharp knife to expose clean metal.
IMPORTANT NOTES
1. False triggers may be caused by placing the sensor on humid concrete.
Changing the location of the sensor probe can remedy the problem.
2. We recommend the battery be replaced twice annually.

4. The
detector
can provide valuable protection for your home and
property if utilized properly. However, this unit cannot guarantee
complete protection from water damage. Therefore, we cannot be
responsible for any losses or damages which may occur.
WARRANTY
This unit is warranted to be free of defective materials and workmanship
for a period of one year from date of purchase. In case of malfunction, this
unit will be replaced at no charge by Ideal Security Inc. Return the product
postage paid, along with your sales slip to Ideal Security Inc., 7585 Cordner
Street, LaSalle, QC, Canada H8N 2R5. Warranty begins on date of consumer
purchase. Replacement as described above shall be the sole remedy to the
consumer and there shall be no liability on the part of Ideal Security Inc. for
any special, indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including but not
limited to any loss of business or profits whether or not foreseeable.
